Best of "80s showing up in discount stores in US...

So could this mean Winners might get these here?

Mere speculation, I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but what do you think?

What a slap in the face to the fans trying to get this set! First it's not available and now mysteriously being cleared out at select stores? They said there were plenty 'in the channel'. This is their idea of 'no prob, you will be able to get set 5'? This would be like not being able to assemble the big figure from Marvel Legends figure waves. Now all that will happen is that the scalpers will dive in with their Visa cards and buy all the sale ones and then sell them for $90.00 on ebay. Thanks again Hasbro. Too bad the ask Hasbro sessions are 99% 'When is wave 'x' coming out?' instead of calling them on this BS! It just shows Hasbro that we are suckers and will buy their stuff whether they put it out properly or not.

Keep in mind that Hasbro isn't responsible for this, its the retailers.
They ordered the stock, but did not put it out. When the first sets did not move fast, they were stuck with this "in the channel". Now that the movie stock is coming in force, the retailers have little choice but to dump these sets to discount retailers. Hasbro has almost zero control over how the retailers manage their stock.

But were any in OUR channels? Does Zellers or TRU have them in warehouses ready to liquidate to Winners or Giant Tiger or something? The worst sign I can think of is that Wal-mart (at least the dozen or so I have been to since 25ths have been out) have never had any of the DVD packs, not even the dreadfully overstocked 1&2. I've never even seen any of the final three in Canada (had to buy 3 & 4 from SmallJoes but was too cheap to pay $40 for set 5 the week it was in stock

I think patience may be the key in this case. If they're being blown out at discount stores, chances are there is enough inventory to satisfy demand. Collectors are just impatient, so right now the prices are high on ebay. But they also have a short attention span. I could be wrong, but in a year or 2 you'll likely be able to pick this up on ebay for roughly retail.

Now, there is some confusion...

According to the Q&A from this past winter:

*2)* Will the rest of the 25th anniversary DVD Packs and Vehicles see a wide release in Canada like the first wave? It's hard to build the MASS device when only 2 of the 5 packs have shown up at retail.
Yes, as Canada works through inventory, they will get to packs 3, 4, and 5.

But then from another thread from the Canadian Joe Con The Mike said the following:

"No new product is due in Canada until the Movie. That I DO remember them saying."
"Them" being Hasbro Canada.

Seems like it may be a bit of a contradiction, but maybe not. Maybe we'll see the DVD sets after the movie is out? Or maybe like in the US, stores are still trying to get through inventory of sets 1 and 2? Who knows?
