Title: Speed Painting Thoughts?
Post by: BHMike on May 09, 2009, 01:24:10 PM
Do you guys want the speed painting to stick around? This was the lowest attended event this year, and if there's no interest, we can always remove it.

David Willis seemed to enjoy it as he entered it:

I really enjoyed it, Mike, but there is something off about it, not sure what, maybe an hour and 30 minutes to dry, write card, and ridicule viper?

Overall though, fun, I especially liked Fall and Prussian blue, :)

No love for my Nok Bob Sledder, though, ROFL

I like the speed painting, and would have done it this year, i stuck around as long as i could to do it. But i had to leave just as it was starting, to go to a wake/viewing for my fiance's grandfather that passed away on Thursday.

I respect a lot customs figs; I have few myself. But I have to admit, I didn't go to the con for the speed painting contest. Me and my friends had to leave early because we had to drive back home, so we missed it.

Just for the record, my two other friends and I actually would've liked to participate at the Speed painting contest but like Martin said we all had to leave the Con around 2pm. It was actually for the Best since most of us had to show up in great shape at the Montreal Toy Con the next day. If it could be moved earlier, now that would be interesting, but I know that it could slow down the first half of the day on the other hand.

We didn't have the WRESTLING matches this year. That event is now done and I highly doubt it will ever come back.

I set my nap alarm specifically for this event.  Loved it, and hope it's back next year.

I guess that makes me the king of the king as I was the last guy to win.

Approve me on your PS3 and we'll settle who's the king. ;-)

Without the audience and the rush of the Joe  Canuck meet / convention, everything else is just an exhibition match.

So in short, hail to the king baby.  ;D

Now go buy Call Of Duty 4 or Call of Duty World at War and meet me on line.  :mrt:

No interest in those games.
Wrestle me, or forfeit. LOL

Yeah, the limited con sets were kind of a bummer in that way, so little sleep to get them, puts the rest of the con in a haze, :)  Though, I think I'll schedule a nap next year, lol.

Now there's a suggestion for next years con, the nap room.  ;D

This was my first time in the speed-painting contest and I had a blast.  Not just because the Vamp prize was cool - but the whole thing was fun.
Everyone who was painting was having a great time, joking back and forth, trash-talking, etc.
Fun had by all.

I echo the exhausted sentiments though - gotta get some sleep before I leave for the con next year!

You don't know what your missing. I use to hate first person shooters as well. Sure I played Halo (1 - 3) and Gears of War as well as some others but was never won over. Fry Cry caught my attention and I thought Vegas was great. Then I player C o D 4. At first I thought "Meh" but once I beat the game and started on line play, that was it for me.

You know I went out and bought Raw vs Smackdown 2009 but as soon as I finished all the story modes with the game I put it down and went back to C of D 4. Last month I picked up C O D World at War and that game rocks. I'm only level 23 but that just encourages me to play more, so I can rank up and finally use the Bouncing Betty land mine.

There is a reason these games are #1 picks and why you can't find used copies cheap. Everyone is still playing them.

Still, we'll game some wrestling on the go sometime. It's just that now I'm rusty, so you'll kick my butt.

Good thing there was no tournament this year. I might have had to hand over the title Scramble brought last year over to you (yes, I still have it.)

I don't hate those games. The Splinter Cell series of games and Rainbow 6 are some of my favs. I'm just not about to drop 60 or 70.00 on a game that I know I won't play much of. ;-)

Then NOW is when you want to play me... 'Cause I haven't played it in months - and just started playing it again last week - and doing badly I might add.

Maybe tonight?

Anyone else on the board have a PS3 and Smackdown vs Raw 2009?

wow, i had no idea world at war was that great.

Maybe we can have a 360 tourney next year, lol.

Wait, did you say level 23?  your character gets stronger?  Freakin sweet.

By the way, thanks for handing out the bracelets so early, guys, that was awesome.  Our group had only been there since 4 and were already ready to fall over.  Though I admit it was fun watching X do the same Pee Pee dance my dog does, lol.

and tormenting him in a similar manner, :)

Yeah, and at level 23 I'm ranked pretty low. Seems like most guys I'm playing with / against are levels 50 and up.

I get shot up a lot, that's why I need some back up.
