Post by: Jebus on July 27, 2004, 11:27:53 AM
Did anybody notice on the Talking Commandoes Cobra Commander and the comic 3 pack are almost the same?

Talking Commandoes Cobra Commander - Darker, Short mask,
Comic 3 pack - Bright, Long mask, and flat back (After talking backpack is taken off.)

Just wondering if anybody noticed this. I thought it was very interesting.

Well both figures are made from the same mold with the exception of the casting for the head. They have used the talking C.C. for Battle Corps (1993), Joe Vs. Cobra 2000 and last years convention set (2003).

I am going to ask, even though I know the answer.

Did  you pick them up at Canadian retail?  or did you get them from South of the boarder?

Smalljoes has all 3 packs in right now (or at least this morning). With shipping it was like $47.ish USD for one of each. Ouch, my wallet. Not sure these will show up in Canada with comic and all due to French/English requirements and I don't see them making the comics in French.

The comics wouldn't have to be translated in French. Toy Biz had the first wave of their original Marvel line released with comics. It falls under the same umbrella as DVDs and music: Only the packaging must be in French, the content can be in whatever language. Otherwise Swahili-to-Cantonese dictionaries wouldn't sell half as well in Quebec.

So there is a chance in hades that they might get released them, probably at Wal-Mart.
