Hey guys, I have a:
PP Stinger with Motor Viper
2-Pack Specialist set
Mickey Mouse Cobra Commander
PP Televiper officer with parachute

These guys are not for sale at all, they're my extras I was planning to use as army builders, but I would trade them for past Canada Con exclusives.  I know it's a long shot but if anyone has:
Shiver
Snowbank
JoeCanuck
Black Ice
and you're willing to trade for 2011 US Joe Con stuff, let me know.

General Joe Talk / 2nd Annual Cross Continent Cobra Capture Classic!
« on: February 16, 2011, 07:28:35 PM »

It's a new year and a new capture season is upon us.  The rules are the same as last year.  This is basically a geocache hunt without the geo. I will try to give fairly good clues on the whereabouts but I wont have latitude longitude available. The figures that I stash will be in plastic bags and loose, as carded figures will be harder to stash and would get banged up anyway. When you find a figure there will be a code with him. You must post the picture of the figure with the code up to prove that you have captured him. He's yours to keep. Each person who finds a figure and posts a picture of the capture will be put into a drawing. This year's drawing is for a USS Flagg.  At the moment, the flagg I'll be giving away is missing a couple of pieces but i should be able to get it completed at Joe Con.  The drawing for the Flagg will be the same as last year at Canada Joe Con in June.

I'm starting the contest off tomorrow night so stay tuned for updates.  I'll try to hit areas I didn't get to last year.  The pacific northwest (including vancouver region)  and the southeast will be getting some hits this year.  Last year I tried the idea of giving out figures for other people to hide but that kinda flopped with only 1 of the 10 I gave out got hidden, so I'm going to stick to me hiding them alone.

Yearly CanJoeCon Discussion / Mark Bellomo's panel
« on: August 10, 2010, 06:38:07 PM »
Was I the only one sitting at that panel who thought Bellomo was talking about a GI Joe Special Missions book he was going writing for IDW?  If so, my bad.  But I was under the impression that his entire panel was to talk about a Special Missions book he was starting to work on with IDW.

EDIT:  This whole panel was recorded right?  Just checking on this in case I made a mistake on something I posted about the con elsewhere.

Gearing up for Canada Con this weekend I'm getting my trivia itch going.  So at 4pm CST about an hour and 20 minutes from this posting, I'll be holding an impromptu trivia contest.  I did one on the hisstank and theterrordrome last night and joecanuck gets their's today.  Winner gets a POC Alley Viper and an entry into the Cobra Capture Terrordrome drawing.  The first person to get five correct answers wins.

Meet in the JoeCanuck chat room a little bit before 4pm CST.  We'll get started then.

Yearly CanJoeCon Discussion / CanJoeCon Trivia Contest
« on: July 23, 2010, 03:12:42 PM »
For anyone who saw the Trivia Contest on the schedule of events and was wondering what it entailed, here is the format:

If any of you have ever done a charity trivia night, it's the same basic style just cut in half to fit a one hour time slot.

There will be 5 rounds with 10 questions each round.  Just so you know what to prepare for, here are the categories:
CanJoeCon/JoeCanuck
Vehicles
International  (international joes outside of North America)
Movies (this can be RoC or any other Joe cartoon movie)
Out of scale (questions about non 3 3/4" joes)
Filecards
Marvel Comics
Cartoons
WHOBIT  (a nod to yojoe's accessory guide.  You'll get a picture of an accessory and have to name which joe it goes to)

I'm leaving the final category up to you guys.  Post up what category you'd like to see on here and the most popular one gets it.

Each question is worth one point, 10 points in a round, and in each round you can designate a mulligan (basically if you get the question you've designated as the mulligan wrong, you don't lose a point).  So a perfect score in the game is 50.

You can play individually or form into groups of up to 3.  Just remember that the prizes are usually single items not easily split up, so if you wanna go for the gold yourself you can, but if you want to play socially, and then fight over the spoils :D  you can do that as well.

The prizes:
Grand Prize is a MIB Desert Cycle with Sandstorm from the canceled Target line
Second Prize is a Clear Wraith Variant from the 25th Anniversary line
Third Prize is a Canceled Elite Ice Viper figure

There will also be prizes each round by drawing for the knick knack table.

General Joe Talk / Need a few good Canucks!
« on: May 17, 2010, 02:50:28 AM »
Due to an ill timed flat tire, my pre Joecon adventures in Canada were cut short last month as was my British Columbia Olympics adventure in February due to snow storms.  So I only had time to figure out one good spot for the Cobra Capture Classic in Ontario and that was a rural one at that.  Between now and Canada Joe Con I will not be making any more trips to Canada and having only one hidden figure in Canada just will not do.  So I need a few Canucks to help me out hiding figures.  I'd like to get two more in Ontario, two in Quebec, one in newfoundland, PEI, Nova Scotia, one in Manitoba, one in Saskatechewan (gah I butchered that sorry), one in Alberta and the british columbia one is already covered.  So what I'd like to get from you guys is to message me with a plan for a good hiding spot if you're up to the task.
The hiding place must be on public property (unless you have permission from the property owner like a restaurant or such), and it the public place must be an area where you can search for it without people thinking you're crazy.  Think good geocache type spots.
If the hiding place is good, send me your address, and I'll send you out the figure.  You then hide it taking good pictures of the area, and then post the clues to the thread.  I'll copy it over to the other boards from there.  Please don't give any of your buddies the heads up before you post it, give everyone an equal shot.
Also for being such a help to the contest, you'll also get your name into the drawing for the Terror Drome at the con.

Hello all!  For years, I've been thinking about a cross community contest that is open to all Joe collectors and today I've finally set one in motion.  If you don't know me, I am Roshan on the hisstank forums and you may have met me at Joe cons in the past.  Regardless if you know me or not, you're all invited to join a contest that you can play in the field or keep track of on your computer.  I've put together a contest that spans a great deal of Canada and the United States called the Cross Continent Cobra Capture Classic. Here's how it works:

Cobra action figures will be placed in hidden locations throughout the land. These figures will be found in plastic zip lock bags with a code inside. I will be putting clues to all of their whereabouts on my blog and on various websites so that you may find them. If you locate a figure, he's yours to keep, but we need that intel, so please post a picture of the figure with his code either here, the intel hub blog or at any of the various joe websites on the net. This intel is two-fold. First it will unlock greater information for the rest of the contest, and more importantly for you, it will register you in the grand prize drawing.

Each basic trooper found will be worth one entry into the great drawing, while every cobra raid leader (four total) will be worth three entries into the grand drawing. The drawing will be held at the GIJoe Canada Con in August and the winner will receive a Cobra Terrordrome with Avac and Firebat. You will not need to be present to win, I will ship it to you.

Now where will these guys be hidden? That I cannot say, but intel will come in throughout the year when we get it, and I will say that the figures will find their way to at least 30 states and three provinces, with about 60-70 total troopers dropped so your chances of being in on the hunt are pretty good.  I will be updating a lot of the contest in this thread, but for the quickest updates for drops and intel, check the central hub for all the info at:  http://cobracaptureclassic.blogspot.com/

Additionally, the forum that finds the most figures by the end of the contest I will donate $50 to help fund their server costs. So when you find a figure and you post it on the site of your choice, that will be one tally for that collector group.  If you post straight to the blog, you can designate which site you belong to if you wish.

There are further prizes in the contest, but they need to be discovered as figures are found by the clues they give. So go out there and let's hunt some Cobras!

Here's the first intel pic of the Cobra troops on the loose.  There whereabouts will be revealed soon!

General Joe Talk / Master Collector trying to punk Joe Canuck?
« on: August 16, 2009, 03:04:22 PM »
So they announced the 2010 con in Providence the first weekend in May.  Isn't that the same time you guys have your con every year?  If so, that's just lame.  They must really fear you guys.

Yearly CanJoeCon Discussion / How much money to bring for exclusives?
« on: April 02, 2009, 12:26:41 AM »
Checked around for a bit and didn't find anything on prices for the exclusives.  How much will the five pack run?  I'm coming from Iowa so I need to plan my budget accordingly.
