Is Marauder John going to be attendence with his sales table again this year?
Red and white once again! We've restored the classic look of JoeCanuck.
Lady Jaye is the voice of Onstar. That is almost enought to make me want to buy a GM.same here....
Man, now you're inspiring me to say something great.nahhh, the praise is deserved!
These were meant to be "What if" in the first place, meaning I tried placing myself back in time and imagine that these were actually offered for the first time 20-30 years ago along with the 1982-1994 wave of figures, what they could've possibly looked like.Well, Backstop was released in 1987 and look at the color scheme he ended up with. Yuck! I like to think that Hasbro could have repainted him in normal, TACTICAL colors if they'd cared to later (no, I'm not counting Static Line because he was a new character with the same digs, and while his colors were more subtle, they weren't much better). And Chacal Noir might have looked like that if he'd been released in 1983-1986 or 1990/1991 (SAW Viper was the lone awful exception)... but within any of those other intervening years he would have either been ridiculously designed (see all but one Cobra [WORMS] from 1987 and half of 1988) or his colors would have been neon enough to ruin a good sculpt (see Heat Viper v1 & v2 and most every figure 1992-1994).
But I still didn't reach the end result as these figures look more like artistic customs rather the actual toy representations of the past. They're customs, man, it's not a bad thing if they look like personal creations instead of mass produced toys! Personally I think these guys were tremendous successes.
I hope to do more customs in the near future as this is not really a regular base hobby (nor a job). I just did these out of pure fun, without a lot of customizing experience in my portfolioYou just proved here that a ton of experience isn’t a requirement to create something really awesome.
This was the only version of Backstop ever made.
Hell. Go get a case of beer and chill out in the hotel room with your toys and your fellow Joe-Pals!sounds like a perfect plan to me
Where'd that huge chrome gun come from on mortal? Did it come with the roc destro 2 pack?Funskool Cross Country came with a whole weapons tree of vac-metallized firepower and a Mario mustache!
Definitely no real surprises or big revelations in the slideshow (they save all that stuff for SDCC), except to people to who maybe haven't seen a lot of movie merchandise up early on ebay... that's I think the only place I have seen most of the early movie stuff.Quote from: "THE Mike?"The Hasbro one, we respected the wishes of Hasbro and did not allow any video, audio or still images to be taken.
But there is a Tan Armadillo tank coming out for the movie - with guns on the side - just like our own Dead Eye tank. :-)
And the Viper Elite looks cool.
Thanks.
I was just wondering if there were answers given to specific questions asked here. I'm not sure if this followed the same format as the typically Q&A with Hasbro.
