For Sale or Trade / G1 TRANSFORMERS parts great lot for sale on Ebay
« on: December 05, 2009, 10:58:10 PM »
Just thought I could let you guys know that I have a handsome lot of Transformers parts on sale on Ebay:

[url=http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110465385502&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT]http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... :MESELX:IT

And Joecanuck members will get 50% off the actual shipping if it is lower than what I stated on the auction. If I don't know a member at all, I'll most likely ask the ebayer to send me a PM via Joecanuck.com.

Thanks!

Customs / My 90's style TIMBIT custom
« on: December 02, 2009, 12:03:26 AM »
Okay here goes...

I wish I could say I did this one very fast because I didn't. This is probably the one custom I did that took forever to do and he's not even finished  :-[. Some touchups are still to be done. This is a custom that I started but casted aside with excitement when I finished gathering all the parts I needed to finally make my Chacal Noir custom.

I wasn't happy with the head I used so I removed it from the body and placed a temporary one instead under the helmet ( head of Sgt. Hacker which was aborted from the first draft of my Backstop custom).

As many of you don't know I'm one of the unlucky ones who didn't acquire the exclusive Timbit at the 2008 Canadian Joe Meet. So I said, hey I'll make my own but this time he's going to look like the second generation driver for the persuader.

So here he is, not 100%, but you could say 80% done.

Quebec / Montreal Toy Con: October 18th
« on: October 08, 2009, 01:23:24 PM »
Next Montreal Toy Con is October 18th.

Like every year, I'll be setting up with some Joes.

However this year I decided to sell most of my loose vintage and newer (POTF to today) Star Wars collection.

I'll even part with my 20 something loose Lord of the Ring action figure collection, including a giant Cave troll and a BIG Balrog.

Find out about the details of the event here:

Thanks for stopping by, I definitely had a great time chatting about Comics and artwork other than just the regular Joe stuff ( for a change  ;D ). See you soon!

General Joe Talk / Toyin' Around
« on: September 17, 2009, 10:48:16 PM »
Hey I thought of starting this thread where we just have fun with our toys.( unless someone beat me to it - then feel free Mods to merge it with the first one ).

I was at work today when my co-worker took out this weird looking carrot from her lunchbag.

It then gave me the funniest idea and fortunately for me I had my 25th joes on my computer tower, so I took this pic with my cell phone:

My Co-workers cracked up as they had never seen me do something like this at work especially with my little joes, but it was one of the highlights of today and that's what counts. But really, who's the action figure in here, the carrot or the frogmen? You tell me .

Customs / My 80's style CanJoeCon BACKSTOP & CHACAL NOIR
« on: September 12, 2009, 11:05:14 PM »
Hi guys,

I customized this 80's style Backstop and I based him on how he looked in the 2009 Canadian Joe Convention set.

To the left is the original figure from the Convention set, and to the right is my custom.

I speed paint him yesterday night and this morning did some touch-ups. And Voila!

Let me know what you think. I'm planning on doing his brother too, I just have to finish gathering all the parts before I start working on him.

General Joe Talk / What's the first Joe Toy you ever owned?
« on: September 08, 2009, 10:52:02 PM »
Everyone must've started their collection somewhere, so wouldn't it be nice to recall that fateful day you got that first Joe toy that started it all?

So what was the first Joe you ever owned and when did you get it? Try to remember the details of it, think of it as a Brain Age exercise ;D.  And don't be shy if you only started collecting a year or a month ago, it only means that you have more to tell us than you can remember!

I'll go first. I got my first Joe in 1985, It was Shipwreck, my all time favorite character, and my mom bought it for me for 3.99$ at Eaton's of Downtown Montreal. My brother got his wish: Crimson Guard, and strangely I don't envy him to this day. It wasn't on a special occasion, she just wanted to give us a little treat on that day.

General Joe Talk / James McCullen 2-pk from the San Diego Comic Con 2009
« on: August 01, 2009, 01:26:12 PM »
Hey,

You might think I'm not up to date but I never bother really to check out how these look out of the box, and yesterday I got that chance at my local comic shop. A buddy of mine brought them in to show to the good rest of us who couldn't make it to San Diego.

They're really nice as I had the chance to hold them in my hands, probably the best figures I could own in this line so far, when I'll own it that is.  - Enjoy!
