General Joe Talk / Does anyone use the 'view new posts link'?
« on: February 19, 2004, 06:55:44 PM »
Incidentally, the voice of the first commerdial is Darrin "Big D" Laidman, who at the time was on Energy Radio, but who is now one half of Y108's Jay and Big in the Morning.  Boss Cross was indeed the voice of the second spot, but he has since gone back to CFNY AKA The Edge.  Speaking of which, the voice of the last spot (The infamous Goat spot) is Alan's old co-worker from CFNY and Energy Radio anchor Scott Turner.

For a guy who hasn't done a lot of advertising, you certainly scored some of the best on-air talent in Southern Ontario to be your spokespeople.  Well done.  :)

Hey Ken,

Speaking as a father of one with another on the way, I totally understand your situation.  When young Simba was still an infant, there were several shows I had to bail on 'cause there were no sitters available and my better half was working.  You showed, you threw down some coin, you had to jet.  The fact you made an appearance showed you cared, and proves that there was no lack of respect. Tell the naysayers to F.R.O.

Cheers!

just thinking that at that price, I might actually make the jump into newer joes...pick up two, one to open and one to keep mint.  but i still prefer the joes of my youth.

ah...and because they're a couple of years old at this point and anybody that wanted them has already picked them up, they're selling for $2.98?

ok, since i'm admittedly a novice with newer Joes, I need some clarification.  I see that the Big Ben/Whiteout two pack is from 2000, and I'm led to beleive by the comments that the general consensus is that it sucks.  My question is why?  Again...new to the game, and just curious.

cheers!
