Title: Printing places?
Post by: Jay on November 10, 2006, 11:43:41 PM
Having downloaded the scans for both the Palitoy Death Star and the Action Force HQ recently, I was wondering... does anyone know a place where I can get them printed out on durable cardboard or something similar so I can finally have a Terrordrome and a GIJoe base?

I would recommend that you have them printed on sticker sheets and stick it on Hi Art cardboard.

Most digital places wont be able to print on cardboard thicker than 12pt which is still thin to build a HQ.

For good service and nice prices I would recommend Urgence Copies on ontario street . Its five minutes from the Frontenac metro station.

You can even send them, your files and pick up your stuff the next day so you wont have to go twice.

urgencecopies.com

if you want more info.

Hi art can be found at Omer de Serre. Its at Berri station.
Maybe Bureau en gros has some as well but I'm not sure.

I wonder if I can edit these scans somehow so Stormtroopers become Vipers (in JvC colors), regular Imperial troops become Blueshirts and put something else than outer space battles on the display monitors...
That'd make it a lot nicer to pose Cobras in once I get it done.

ok... well I don't see why you don't want to make those files available to everybody but I respect your decision

Jay,

The hobby should be about sharing - and at THIS site it is.  People were nice enough to offer you places to get them printed AND where to find the right type of board to attach it to - share the info.

It's found here:
http://www.actionforce.org/actionforce/ ... _base.html (http://www.actionforce.org/actionforce/printable_base.html)

actionforce.org has been around long enough that most know about it, don't 'hide' it from someone else.

This site may have 200+ members, but only 20-30 post in a regular manner. If more 'sharing' of info like this happened, we may see those lurkers posting alot more.

As for the Death Star, it and a ton more Star Wars items can be found here at Eriks site.... you guys don't know him, and that's just dawning on me now.... he's a customer of mine for the last 7 years.

Jay, if you would like to be 'extra nice' to your fellow Canucks today, email me two zip or compressed files - one with each in them and I'll upload them to this site so we can all grab them easier.  ;-)

oh and by the way, even if I don't post very often, doesn't mean I'm not an active collector, I have over 600 Joes and over 1800 SW figs. But between the family, friends the job, etc. I don't always have time nor something to say.

Thanks

I don't think anyone is saying you aren't my man! ;-)

Life gets busy. Things happen. Heck, anyone that has been a customer of mine and read the updates when I did them KNOWS that I've always put family first.... kinda the reason I closed up!

So I hear ya. :-)
