I just wanted to get an idea of how many Quebecers (Montrealers) we have on the board here, so if you live in QC, please reply to this, and specify if you live in Montreal.
Oh and if you're a prick, don't even bother to reply to this thread.
-
Not only am I in Montreal, but I'm in charge of it! Okay, technically I'm in Pointe Claire, but it's Montreal enough.
I've been on Joe boards (here, Joecustoms, TheBivouac) for about six years now. I've attended Mike's Joe Canuck con, but haven't yet gone to a Joe con south of the border. Strangely, the only Montreal Joe fan I've met was Henry Kwan, "Herky", who has since dropped out of the hobby.
I haven't MSNed regularly in a while, but if I find some miraculous free time, you can add me to your list and chat me up. I'm at azaul@hotmail.com.
-
hey I'm in Montreal too. Been a joe fan since I was 4. I grew up with a joe in each hands :) I go to the yojoe board as well. I should check the others as well once in a while (need more time)
I don't do the msn thingy, but you can drop me a mail or a pm anytime.

i'm a little late but why not check in. I live in st-hyacinthe but I work downtown montreal.
I'm a joe and SW fan since 1983 and 1977

Wow 4 people, that's depressing :(
-
I don't think it's that depressing.
If you want more folks from your area in here, promote joecanuck.com!!!
:-)
The more folks we have here, the higher chance everyone has of finding new trading partners and completing our collections.
:-)
Besides, if you find more, all of you can car-pool it down for the meet!

You can add 1 more to the list for a grand total of 5 montrealers lol. I'm a bit lazy to post sometimes. I definitely know there are more than 5 collectors here in montreal from my joe hunting adventures. However, I think there are only 5 active ones on this board as well as the others (or that I am aware of).
-
I try to promote the board as much as possible but there aren't a lot of gijoe collectors who visit any forums. It really bugs me when people collect something and don't take part in the community, just rude if you ask me.
Hey Redmao, you go to legends fairly often maybe you could ask them to give out flyers for joecanuck when people buy gijoes.
-
Add another one boys.. i too am from montreal..

I live in the ndg area.
-
No kidding. I work in the NDG area on weekends. Ever been to Quantum Cards, 7374 Sherbrook Ouest?
-
Yeah i dont live to far from there, i went there a few times for magic cards, lol..(it was a phase, dont make fun, lol)
you know it would be cool for a few of us to hang around one day, i'll be going to legends next week to get some new joes..
-
what new joes? I often go to legends on thursday evening after work. The more recent joes they have is wave 4 and some six packs they brought back from the states. They have the desert set and the arashikage clan set.
Maybe I'll see you there.

What's wrong with playing magic!!!!!!!!! I played for about 8 years when I was younger.
Ya, getting together to meet up would be really cool...but it's very hard to get everyone together. I myself work weekends and am at school all week so my free time is very limited.
During the summer we should try though.
-
well alot of people used to make fun of magic, lol, by new joes i mean joes that i dont have yet, lol..
as for meeting up, for me it would be easy, cause i am going back to school in fall, so i have alot of free time on my hands now..
-
I'd be up for meeting you guys somewhere, but I work 13 out of 14 days. It would be tough to manage. Plus I'm organixing a play right now. Summer would be good, though.
-
a play, that's cool.
A summer meeting might be cool indeed.
-
add me to the list its my first time here in joecanuck im from NDG, montreal....near monkland and grand blvd..i would like to hang out and meet joe fanatics just like me...willing to meet up and do trades and share collections....this is my email candtadarle@hotmail.com (http://mailto:candtadarle@hotmail.com)

Hey, it's been a long time since I posted on this board, I'm from Montreal too. Any of you guys speak french? I tried to start a small french Joe community a year or 2 ago through a website since, I think, the French Canadian part of the Joe history have it's own color (Zorro for Snake-Eyes, stupid translations like "Chassis" for Mainframe (like he's a glass window specialist or what?), T?te de Pont for Beach head (hey.. beach head, not BRIDGE head..)...
Would have been cool to regroup all Joe fans from Quebec who actually don't speak english and can't enjoy their hobby like us... but oh well, a couple of guys sent things in for the site when I started (guys not necessarily interested in GIJoe but with some French Heritage stuff in their basement), even had the intro video of our Quebec GIJoe cartoon (not that French crap...) and then... nothing. The website is still up since it's my own domain, but no action in quite a while: http://gijoe.virtualogik.com (http://gijoe.virtualogik.com) ... I've put a bit more effort in other sites (some joe related : scarlett.virtualogik.com and I'm working on a better version (aka ENGLISH version) of my Snake Eyes site: snake-eyes.virtualogik.com...
I may be interested in picking it up again if you guys know of any French canadians who can't participate in any english Joe forums (like joecanuck ;) ).

I'm actually shocked that there isn't more french threads on here.
Over at Snowtroopers.com, there's ALWAYS french threads in the Quebec section.
Mike
-
ouais, on fait ce qu on peut :)
-
I'm fully bilingual. I just don't bother with French.
-
Mon Francais c'est comme la gomme dans les cheveux.

Mon Francais c'est comme la gomme dans les cheveux.
Tr?s tr?s tr?s d?plaisant?
-
...sticky??? je pige pas trop l'allusion l
-
Used Google to see what the hell you guys were saying, this is what it gave me:
Mon Francais c'est comme la gomme dans les cheveux.
My French it is as the gum in the hair.
Tr?s tr?s tr?s d?plaisant?
Very very very unpleasant
...sticky??? je pige pas trop l'allusion l?.
... sticky??? I measuring rod not too allusion there.
So, Scramble has Gum in his hair, and Redmao has a measuring rod?
Mike
-
Yeah, I don't know french expressions. I was basically saying my french is lousy.
-
BHT
"je pige pas" means "I don't get it" or "i don't understand" "pige" is a french expression from France.
-
indeed
-

-
Thanks Mike. I gave up French in grade 9.
-
You know what's funny, French was one of my best subjects.
I got 98% in Gr.9, 90% in Gr10 and 95% in grade 11.
Now I all I know is the basics.

I'm a quarter French, am surrounded by the language, and work at a bilingual school and I'm not much better. Oh the confused looks some of the french kids give me when I'm trying to discipline them.

Hi everyone. Mark me down as another Montreal based Joe fan. I admit I don't post here nearly often enough. I'm always hanging out at Joesightings and tend to lurk over at Joecustoms. I really need to start posting here more often. Anyway, I have met Custo and Scramble at that Joe meet at Legends last year and look forward to seeing you guys again. Scramble send me a pm so we can hook up at the con. This will also be my first Joe con ever so I am really really excited.
-
South Shore, baby. Riverside!
Its good to see fellow Quebecers interested in GI Joe. Good stuff.
-
Man, ninjas can do anything. But can they defeat Samuel L. Jackson?
Welcome to the board, SEoaP. Hope to see you September 16th (http://http://www.joecanuck.com/joe/board/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1363&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0).
