Is April '82 when 3 3/4 Joe first debuted?

I'm trying to figure out the significance of the 482 on the arctic hiss. Apparently the numbers usually mean something.
The year was '82, not sure if it was April.

I can't wait for the Sky Hawk.  It looks great.

Don't care much for the Water Moccasin, Stinger (though it looks great), or Arctic HISS (still think it should have been a HISS Mark II so you could load it up with the Extreme Conditions winter set).  CLAW looks great in red (looks like it matches the Firebat), but I'd rather have a white one.  Don't care about the CLAW pilot.  FLAK looks really good and I'm digging the Outback.

My problem with the original claw that came out when I was a kid was it didn't match the cartoon.  I remember not liking the landing gear when a figure was in it - and the figures arms had to be bent at an extreme 90? angle to get him to hold on.
I haven't compared the new vehicle to what was in the cartoon or the comic.  Does anyone know if they were shooting for a more toon/comic accurate version?

These are amazing, all of them except the CLAW are just incredible. Even the FLAK is amazing.

Just in case they mysteriously disappear:

If these show up in Canada, I will buy an army of Arctic HISS tanks. I love the look, and the driver rocks as well

I have never heard this before - and it makes sense.  Any clue on some of the other numbers meanings?

Judging by the answers to the recent Q&A answers (http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/aro ... swers-7730), the coolness won't be stopping for a while!
