Title: Singles at Zellers?
Post by: starviper on February 02, 2008, 06:25:42 PM: In case someone didn't see my post in the Comic thread... I saw two empty pegs that said GI Joe Single Figure $7.99! I assume the product had not arrived yet. There was a blue tag on them that said "CR" Any clue what that means? Anyone have Zellers connections?

I looked again today... still not there, although there was a SW restock. But I give only 0.02 craps about that.

The Joe pegs label: The date was 31 Jan 08, same as the comic pack peg label. Label read: "25th Ann GI Joe Single Pk -English" (or something very similar). Maybe it means it's the US packaging ones (vice generic frespanglish ones)? Any word/speculation? Any word back from Hasbro to the questions we submitted?

Should have take a phone cam pic but forgot my mobile today. Hmm... a pic of an empty peg... is that desperate or sad?

Then off to Walmart although I don't mine has any seems to be the worst walmart on the face of the planet for toys. StarViper any chance you could let me know which walmart in Ottawa you saw the wave five figs at, any info would be appreciated. I'll keep you guys posted if I find anything at zellers tommorow.

Checked out one of the Zellers by me in Bellscorners and found one full case wave 5 $7.99 each, snaged the bunch up. Only bad thing is that these are the tri language ones with the crappy no picture card art. Hopefully these are just a test run and we get to see superior cards like our american couterparts.

That's for the info.
I don't know to what extent I can support these lame cards. They really do take away a lot of the lure for me. I certainly have no need for multiples. Why would they do this......guess we have to wait for the news letter huh? :)

3 of the 4 Zellers in Oshawa have had single packs this week.

I'm not sure when they restock, but I'm going to be checking every morning before I go to work. They seem to get more singles than WalMart has had.

Agreed. The one by me has had at least three cases in as evident by the number of Crimson Guards I saw. Two CGs are packaged in a case.

And it looks like Wal-Mart is done getting the single packs in. The two Wal-Marts around me have removed the 25th Anv. peg signs. And the third one, the so called superstore, doesn't have any peg spaces allocated for GI JOE product.

As I have stated some where in the Quebec sightings thread, fuck Wal-Mart. I am glad I am spending my coin at Zellers.

LMK which figures you want or still need from this wave. I travel quite abit and often check various stores after work (mostly in the Toronto area). Since, we both live in Oshawa, we can meet up at any time.

On last nights (Fri. Feb. 29) pallet there was a case of Wave 2/08 (Torpedo/RnR/Armor CC) sitting amongst the other detritus of toy offerings.

As of Saturday, they are not on the shelf yet, but they are in the warehouse. Should probably see them out Sunday or Monday morning.

Both of these stores are open 24/7.
