We got TWO questions answered this month!
JOECANUCK.COM ASKED:
1) Going into San Diego Comic Con, word was Hasbro had learned from "Slaughter-gate" and taken measures to ensure fans who wanted Zarana and the exclusive Starscream / Skystriker could get them. What are some examples of the measures taken and how do you feel they worked?
HASBRO ANSWERED:
1) The challenges that we had with the Sarge last year were a result of accidentally selling the online inventory at Comic-Con and not having enough to sell online. The goal has never been to ensure that all fans that want an exclusive are able to get it, otherwise it would negate the ability to call it an exclusive. We always offer a limited amount of SDCC exclusives online after the show and we worked very hard to ensure that the number that we called for the show and for online were in line with historical sales data. We believe that calling the correct number and correctly allocating the online inventory solved the problems that we experienced last year.
JOECANUCK.COM ASKED:
2) Renegades is gone and the new movie won't be out until next year. What's Hasbro's marketing strategy to keep GI Joe in the public eye and to keep kids interested in the brand?
HASBRO ANSWERED:
2) Our plan is to continue to release the remaining figures for the 30th line. The movement of the movie timing has just put a bit of a crunch on our development schedule. However, at this time we haven't cancelled any figures other than the ones previously announced.
