There's a pretty cool potted-history article here: http://www.bloodforthebaron.com/home/history/index.html That should bring you up to speed with the franchise.   I have the complete comic collection online in B&W, we're working towards releasing the full set in colour through this fan-project.  At the moment we're focussing on releasing all of the origin storylines, enemies first.
