I will pass on this set... as I have them on VHS, VCD and DVD. That's enough versions for me.

Yeah, don't need to get that set if you already own them on DVD.. I only have ep. 1-4-5-6 on VHS so, it's a must have in my case!

I'm a pass as well.  Don't need to buy this series again. I will spend the money on more Joes.

I am a definate buy on this one.  I have the THX VHS, Special Edition VHS, and all the episodes on DVD - so why not get the Blu-Ray.

But has anybody heard if the theatrical version (of the originals) will be a bonus on the Blu-Ray?

I heard a rumor that this blue ray box set might contain for the first time since the VHS releases, the first theatrical versions of the movies, as well as their "updated" versions. If this is true, I am likely to get this set.

According to the Toronto Sun http://www.torontosun.com/2011/05/05/star-wars-the-complete-saga-on-bluray Mr. Lucas was supposed to update the media on what this box set will contain exactly.

All I can say is I don't place my expectations too high until I hear the official news from the Sith Lord himself   . Just kidding mr. Lucas.

I grew up with the "untempered" theatrical versions of SW, ESB and RotJ, so I will buy this box if it contains at least the original versions of the classic trilogy before all the special editions started appearing. Since Lucas himself did the special editions to "erase" the original theatrical releases from our collective memory, there's little likelihood that I will get to see them again the way I saw them back then...

My words to Lucas: If you want to update your franchise, and make Star Wars a fully 3D experience, why not redo your entire two trilogies in CLONE WARS CGI animated style, plan for a BlueRay or even a theatrical release. There will be no limit to your storytelling. And this will also allow for Episodes 7-8-9 which I personally call:

Episode 7: The New Republic
Episode 8: The Dark Jedi
Episode 9: The Circle is complete

These are titles I made up, as I'd like to imagine the direction that the new movies could've taken.

from what i heard, no the Blu-ray set won't contain the original theatrical cut of the OT.

as for me, i have SE 4-5-6 and 1 and 2 on VHS and ROTS on DVD, i won't be buying the SW films again until one of the two VHS players i have access to dies OR the full 3D holographic super-mega-ultra editions comes out.

Episode 9: Victory of the Force

That was from Mr. SuperShadow himself

That makes total sense anyway. Wicket was shielded from Imperial crossfire in the battle on the Moon of Endor. He survived because it was the Will of the Schwartz that let him live to fight greater battles. As for his greater battles, who are we to say he might not become the greatest Ewok Jedi. Size matters not anyway according to Master Yogurt  :P

Man, guys, if you want to talk about Star Wars at some point in another thread, I'm always glad to!  ;D
