Title: It's the most wonderful time of the year: Samko/Miko
Post by: Pete The Greek on September 16, 2006, 04:04:35 PM
They are open for business.  Be forwarned, the amount of GI JOE stuff is limited this year.   The only vehicles I saw at Miko today was the Hiss IV.

The figure 2 packs were also limited.  The only army builders I saw were the PP Viper/Tele Viper, Bat v4/Bat IIv3.2, Nightcreeper/Cobra Ninja Trooper and Electric Eel.  3 bucks a pack.

I was down at Samko today (same ownership)

all they had was Gung-Ho/Grunt and NC/Ninja Viper packs, Patriot Grizzly and HISS IV.

On the Transformers front - Sharkticon, Downshift, Strongarm, Offshoot and Insecticon from Energon and a ton of Armada Laserbeaks.

Still plenty of cool Batman and TMNT stuff for the kiddies though.

I never had the BTR Barrel Roll figure. I'd like to know if they have any other of the later BTR sets. I have the common ones from the first wave but that's all. Anyone know what Miko has in the way of BTR?

Same crap from the year before.  Nothing new.

As of Sept. 22, there where NO 2 packs on the pegs and the signage indicating they were 3 bucks was gone at Miko (Richmond Hill).  This doesn't look good for any more to show up.   Good thing I grabbed the packs I wanted when I saw them on day 1.

I was going to go down to the richmond hill store today, it would suck if there weren't anymore two packs.

Which branch is it?  Richmond Hill or the other one?

Pete,

Was there any Gi joe stuff left at the Richmond Hills location? I was thinking about heading down this sunday from Kitchener. Is it worth my drive?
Let me know.

thanks
Mike

The gas will cost you more than you'll save on figures. Not to mention a waste of your time. There's next to nothing as far as Joes go this year.

There's plenty of other stuff (TMNT, Batman, Barbie) if you're doing toy drives. It's just that the Joe/Transformers selection this year is fairly awful.

The only GI JOE stuff left was

- one Cobra Hiss IV
- a bunch of the Battle Hornets/Neo Viper & Neutralizers/Backblast
- one BTR Cobra Raven/Wild Weasel

So who knows if they will re-stock the two packs as the pegs were empty, just like when I went back on day 1, hoping to find some re-stocked 2 packs.

If your going just to find GI JOEs, you will be highly disappointed.  Lots of other toys though.

Anyone know what the Star Wars selection was like?

Any wrestling this year? I haven't seen any for 2 years now.

Pete,

What was the price approx. on these item if you remember. I don't have the following in my collection. It might be cheaper for me to get them off
ebay.

- one Cobra Hiss IV
- a bunch of the Battle Hornets/Neo Viper
- Neutralizers/Backblast

Thanks
Mike

stop by "HEROS".

Um guys? If you don't see things on the shelves, just ask for them - I went today and picked up 25 2 packs at $3 each - They opened 3 cases for me. I left a bunch of Python patrol on the shelves, but I snagged all the BATS. ;-)

They have an entire palat at the back full of joe, and they are more than happy to crack a box or two open at your request. Ask for stinky.

And you have room for this stuff?

I assume Raptor got them at the Toronto location as that is closer to him via the QEW.  Think plenty of time for the RH location to re-stock but they had three days to do it.

damn, I went to the Richmond Hill location today at 4 pm- sunday- most of the joes were gone, except for some battle hornets.

I missed out again, but I bought some Corps 3 packs, which aren't so bad for the money.  Im just going to make them into cobra infantry fodder.

again, thanks Pete and the others for keeping us posted on joe sightings, I'd like to know when miko restocks their joes.

Trilingual card. They have the stickers on them, and come with paper filecards badly mispelled in 3 langauges. One of the filcards is written in a langauge that is in some ways similar to english.

And Jon, figures are only little.  :D They're easy to store. Displaying them will prove a little more challenging.

I meant BTR Barrel Roll.

Pete, you made me nervous. I thought I was replying to a two year old thread.

Denise likes Samco to buy things for her neices and nephew.

(I buy for Zach - that's why he gets the cool stuff!).

Anyway, we went out there today....

Now normally we'd spend anywhere from $150.00 to $400.00..... that was when I had the store of  course.

Today - it was a whopping $18.00.

Sad selection of everything all around.

No joes - just some Hiss tanks.

But I actually got figures that I wanted. (NF Grunt, Ninja Viper)

Ahh shame we haven't had another year like the spytroops yaer. I must've gotten 150 figures that year thanks to Pete and a couple other guys.

Anyway if anywayone sees any python patrol viper/tele-viper packs i could use 8-10 of them and i'll toss in 5$ in addition to cost+shipping for your trouble.

PM me

thanks

Went to Miko today. Nothing there except a few 12" figures. I talked to the one guy there and he said they were all sold out of Joe stuff. I never made it to Samco, but the Pro Bass Shop was great, so the trip was'nt a complete waste of time.

Check today at the Richmond Hill location as I had some office ass kissing function to attend to in the area.  They have no GI JOE stuff.  So that ends this year's search for me.

Yep, Samco hasn't gotten any new deliveries from Hasbro, and didn't anticipate any new ones. If you call them, ask for Stinky - He's the man in the know.

I got Bazooka/Torch for $3 and a bunch of bat 2 packs, so I really shouldn't complain.

The other things that may interest people are the Enterprise bridge figures that include a really cool computer bank for $10, and some cool 1:18/1:17 scale clothing on some pirates clearing out at $1 for 3 figures.

The jacket fits nicely on PTE figures, and can be dyed to whatever color you wish (As long as its green, black or brown)

Do you think Hasbro Canada clued in that sending in relatively new figures to the warehouse was hurting their sales towards adult collectors?

.

.

Who am I kidding? Hasbro Canada doesn't pay attention to any collectors, never mind the adults!

I was just at Samko on Dufferin tonight, and the only thing I saw was Hiss IV's for $10.
No figures.
I only ended up picking up some stuff for my kids and zip for me.
I always hoped I would find a stash of figures that didn't make a big appearnce in Canada - like Joes and Hulk/X-Men classic figures.

Toy Companies are really strange - my prediciton is next year there will be a massive amount of Superman figures, YuGioh and DragonBall Z.

I did notice they had some Brat's playsets that work in the same scale as Joe, but since I am having a space problem as it is, I wasn't about to by more - extra surplus for Dio's

Sorry, I don't need to make room for some Bratz toys, at least not bad enough to unload my SW items.
The day I do, Mike, you will be the first to know.
