In all honesty, i don't think it'll go for much. The Chinese stuff is super common and was released later than most of their domestic counterparts making it much easier to find. Good luck with auction tho!

Off Topic / Other Collectible Stuff?

I don't really collect any modern toys save the odd new He-Man fig. Besides Joe, i'm a big vintage SW collector, i dabble in Transformers and Japanese Robots, i like a lot of misc 80s lines, Super Hero stuff, Lego and pretty much anything else that looks cool.

Sad but true Pete. Star Wars figures are often viewed in that light as well but with the plethora of uniquely Canadian vintage SW out there, it kind of opened the eyes of the world market a bit and even the common Cdn stuff seems to garner the same, if not slightly lower prices than the US versions.

I think tho, on a whole, early Cdn Joe figures are a lot harder to find than many ESB and later SW figs. In my 13+ years of collecting, i've seen VERY few Cdn Joe figures come up for sale locally...

There is a guy here in town who back in the 80s picked up scads of MOC SW figs when places were blowing them out for 99 cents a pop. At one time he had over 1000 and his since sold most of them off at a slight profit. ;) I've picked up a number of goodies from him over the years and luckily for me, he also bought up quite a few MOC Joe figs as well which i also bought a few years back. So, the point of all that was to say that yes, there were people back in the day buying stuff up and saving it for just such an occasion.

I've got some CHERRY CHERRY Cdn carded figs from 84/85 and even i, the mad hater of haters of AFA have been thinking about grading them all, replacing them with non-graded figs and getting a house. ;) The only thing stopping me is that they're Cdn and even though they're rarer, they probably won't go for as much...that and i'd have a hard time replacing nice Cdn examples.

Whyte Knight, Comic Fever and the Antique Mall, which are pretty much the only places to get vintage Joes around town. Unfortunately, there's never anything super great there but they have their moments.

Items Wanted / Couple of Weird Wants

Well, the first one isn't as much weird as it is difficult...i'm after the gun mount for an MSV.

Secondly, i'm after a MOC US Firefly with a flawless card front but a damaged back. I also need a US Firefly cardback with just the back in really nice shape. Yes, i know it sounds weird but my plan will become apparent very soon. LOL...

Nopw, if you pay for the collector hour, you're in for the day. If you come after noon, you only have to pay $3 and you're in for the day. There should be some GI Joe stuff there (i may have a little bit) and i know of a few other collectors who might be set up with some stuff. Either way, it should be a really good show...

Pete, next year's show should be in March as well...are you in Edmonton often? If so, let me know next time you come around and we'll hook up.

Gotta go with 84-85 as well. And if memory serves, Torpedo and Snowjob were 83. ;)
