General Joe Talk / Comic or cartoon
« on: February 17, 2004, 11:16:55 AM »
Comic all the way. Seeing as how Larry Hama wrote all the FCs and every ish of the comic and the creators of the cartoons blatantly disregarded all of that work, i just can't view the cartoons as having any sort of official part in the story. Don't get me wrong, the cartoons are fun and i really enjoy them but the were pretty much fluffed up 1/2 hour toy commercials and to me, therein lies their charm.

General Joe Talk / Extreme Troop Joes...new carded Chinese ripp offs!?

Nah, that's cool Mike...i'm kind of having fun trying to hun these down. ;) If it takes too long tho, i might just have to bite on the offer.

I've actually been trying to track these down but it seems that they haven't shown up in Edmonton yet. From the perspective of a vintage Star Wars bootleg collector, i find these fairly interesting. By the looks of the articulation they appear to be direct bootlegs from the Funskool Pepsodent figures...i think that as more and more people get interested in the Joe line, it's only natural to assume that interest in items such as this will increase as well.

General Joe Talk / What is your most wanted Joe item?
« on: January 19, 2004, 09:21:52 AM »
I think production wise, the thing i'd like the most is either a Japanese boxed Rattler or a boxed SMS. Grail wise, i'd love to see some more 2 ups surface on the prototype market. I'm pretty choked i couldn't afford the ones that were up on eBay a number of years back.

Items Wanted / Canadian Boxes
« on: January 19, 2004, 09:19:34 AM »
I'd prefer them to be in at least C7.5 and they have to be completely in tact ie FCs and Flag Points uncut. Spill, i might be interested in some of the ones you have, drop me a line at thalljoben@shaw.ca if you get a chance to make a list.

Mike, i'll try to drop you a line in the next day or so...things have been silly busy. ;)

And, I might be interested in the Tiger Fish box as well Deadshot, LMK what you're looking for for it.

Items Wanted / Canadian Boxes

Hey all...i've got a thing for Canadian packaging and am looking for any boxes for vehicles or playsets from 82-89. I'd prefer boxes only but am certainly not adverse to buying them with vehicles. ;^)

General Joe Talk / How many are you getting?
« on: January 17, 2004, 01:37:00 PM »
I'm probably going to get at least one pack but i've actually been humming and hawing over that. I'm probably too old skool in my thinking but i'd rather have my Cobra army be made up from original 82/83 figs than the new ones, especially considering i don't have anything released within the last 4 years. If i do get the set, they'll probably be displayed seperately from my other Cobra figs.
