Amazon black friday deals are starting to show up for some classified figures.
and it isn't really worth mentioning but Toysrus.ca has also put items on "sale" making them slightly more than what they should be priced at normally.

Some okay Amazon prices, but everything on sale I already have.

Toys R Us is also having another Buy One, Get One Free on clearance items.   So if you can find something(s) worth your time now is the time to look.

It probably will be a case of how many people complain.

The recent Giant-Man Haslab had a problem with the eyes that looked straight ahead.   A lot of people were complaining that the straight looking eyes were not straight.   Hasbro apparently heard enough complaints that they promised to do another run of the eyes.   So anyone with the problem could contact them for a new set.

Now that is also a case of a really small piece that they can probably blame on the factory and get rectified for cheap, or free.   If the canopy becomes a big problem like the eyes, or the Sentinel's knees, then maybe they'll do something.   However it probably isn't a cheap replacement, and more of a design/engineering problem than a factory problem.   So they may just go the Sentinel route and say "sorry, send it back for a refund."

Sadly not a legit location.  It was at one point hosted on several Torrent sites.

SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   (hahahaha)

Yeah downloading complete runs was great.   I had a number of different runs downloaded for awhile.   However the computer I had them stored on died and I never bothered to transfer them or try and download them again.

I hear the digital services aren't too bad for reading, but I don't know that I would be willing to pay a monthly subscription just to read them once in a whlle.   Although I guess I could sign up, read them, and cancel.   Then rinse and repeat down the road if I wanted to do so again.

Looks like there is an issue with the gull wing door on the Dragonfly.

I have seen a couple posts/reviews showing it breaking, or having stress marks.  Probably due to the thin clear plastic which is notoriously fragile, even on new items.

Mine looks like it could be heading that way if I'm not careful.   However I am not really planning on displaying it, or loading figures inside, in a way that would require me to open it anymore.   Going to keep an eye out to see what Hasbro is offering as a resolution for people and might try and get in on it if it doesn't require much on my end.

I love the original Marvel run of the comics.  The issues towards the end felt forced, and any time they had to do an issue to introduce a new toy was always a little awkward, but over all the entire series is brilliant.  I have all of the original run, spent a couple years sourcing a few issue I missed, mostly from the Special Missions series.  I also bought the Trade Paperback editions years ago.
https://www.amazon.ca/Classic-G-I-Joe-Vol-1/dp/1600103456
I finally hunted down a digital version of the original run and loaded them onto an ipad, that way I don't have to dig out the old ones if I want to re-read them (did the same for the transformers marvel series too)
I enjoyed the cartoon and all of its goofiness, but the comic books felt more grounded.

Where did you find the digital run for download?

General Joe Talk / GI Joe comic disccusions

So I figured I would do a thread for comics since all the Skybound series are running right now, and the compendium (Vol. 1) for the original Marvel run has also just released (not the fancy Kickstarter one, just the retail one).

Anyway I just got the compendium and here is my quick take.

This is the soft cover compendium that covers the original Marvel run from issue #1 - #50.   All the pages are on newspaper stock and the thing is THICC!!!! (that's how the kids say it right?)

I saw people saying it was going to be difficult to read, especially the first and last couple issues, but it opens pretty easily on almost all pages.   So reading it shouldn't be too difficult  outside of the sheer ridiculousness of the number of pages in total.

Paid $55.47 after tax (so $49 before tax) on sale during the preorder stage.   Works out to just under $1.11 per issue if you break it down.   Compared to the cover price of $86.99 ($98.30 after tax) I think it was a good deal.

Overall I am enjoying rereading the first couple issues even though I have probably read them a dozen times over the last 20 years.   Larry just had a great comic almost right from the start.   Although much like the cartoon these early issues are funky with the characterization and designs (both vehicles and characters).

Yeah the stickers are an easy pass.   For something this expensive I have no interest, at least right now, to apply stickers that will eventually peel.   Plus I prefer the bare basic green look.

I could be tempted to apply a base sticker, but for now I am good.

That little plastic bar for the landing gear is actually a good idea.   It gives that little bit more support to keep them from getting warped by the main body of the Dragonfly.

Overall I am loving the whole package, but I can see the issue some people are having with Ripcord and Crazylegs.   The heads are a bit "soft" in look and plastic.   Almost like they weren't completely finished, much like wave 2 of the Super7 Ultimates (Flint, Lady Jaye).

Damn if it isn't a thing of beauty.   Can't wait to get more time to sit down and fiddle with it some more.

Figured I would post a Walmart thread.

Couple of Classified figures are down to $9 on Walmart.ca.

Unsurprisingly nothing worth mentioning really:

Movie Snake Eyes
Movie Storm Shadow
Movie Baroness
Lady Jaye

Just got my Nemesis Immortal.

WOW!

He is bigger than I expected in person.   Seeing the pics with Road Pig and Serpentor I thought he might seem undersized for who he is.   However he is a big boy, the colours are great, and I think the wings are what really push his size up.

Can't wait to get him out of the package and pose him.

Along with IG Bat, Alpine, and Storm Shadow V2, I picked up Star Duster.
The bat is more of the same.
Alpine is awesome, and Storm Shadow is probably my fav out of the group.

Star Duster is a disappointment for me.  The Jet Pack barely fits and I was surprised to find that the extra head isn't a helmet like Clutch, but a replacement head.  I don't feel like I am getting anything for the extra cost of this figure.  The cut out cereal box is my favourite part.

Where did you get IG BAT, Alpine and Storm Shadow?

Apparently Star Duster's Jet Pack doesn't quite fit, but someone online posted that if you cut the tip of the peg on the jet pack (very small cut, we're talking millimeters) it then fits perfectly.

General Joe Talk / Re: Do you remember Space 1999?

Yes I remember the show (with Martin Landau).

Not a big fan as I watched it once and that was it.   The Eagle was a neat design for the time, but I don't think it holds up today compared to contemporary shows (and their ships).
