Hi everyone,
I wanted to let you know that a good friend of mine is putting together a new event: the RETRO EXPO MONTREAL, for action figures, toys, collectibles, video games, comics, etc. It's going to be held on February 8th at the Ruby Foo's, at less than 5 minutes walking distance from the Namur METRO subway station.
General admission is only 2 bucks per person, and free for kids Under 10 yrs of age.
This is highly anticipated event made for the fans and by the fans, the very first expo of this kind in Montreal in a series that I hope will continue for many years to come. I'm happy to say that I'm proud to be a part of this, since I know the organizer and I know his strong background experience with doing events like this, and how genuinely committed he is to both dealers and attendees.
There is a 4hour parking for attendees, but why park when you can just take the subway you will tell me of course, LOL! And unlimited free parking for dealers.
For more information or if you're interested in getting a table, go to this webpage: http://gamerscanada.com/retroexpo/retro.htm (http://gamerscanada.com/retroexpo/retro.htm)
Feel free to check it out, and I hope to see some of you over there as well!

How can you miss the area. It has a giant orange around the corner (yes, I know that flood trap of an area from work).
-
Is it a bigger place compared to the montreal toycon ?

Thanks for asking 80m8!
According to the organizer, it is ;-)
If you have been to a card hobby show before over there, we are taking over MORE than the space they once occupied, I was told.
HOWEVER, regardless of this event's comparable size, one thing you should ALL really be looking forward are the NEW dealer faces that you didn't see at the Mtl Toy Con, and at a 2$ admission fee, nobody can't possible lose! :-)

Yep! The giant orange is an actual concrete sphere building situated along the Decarie Expressway, dating back to its last relocation and resizing, and that was in 1966. It houses a drive-in restaurant called 'Gibeau Orange Julep'. Every wednesday (particularly during the summer) is held a classic car and motorbike event in the parking lot. Car enthusiasts gather there to show off their Retro and classy Hot Wheels.

No. Environmental compliance and due diligence.

REMINDER: The Montreal Retro Expo is only a few hours away: BE THERE!

Because I know that the question was asked before, now that the convention has come and gone, I can confirm that there were dealers with lots of Gi Joe, particularly the o-rings joes.
An attendance of 1100 persons was recorded, WOW! And we even recorded our biggest Snow Storm in along time for the duration of the event : YO-SNOW, WAY TO GO! :-)
