One of my lasting memories from the con was see Larry walking through the lobby, after everything was over on Saturday, with a Millenium Falcon tucked under his arm and a big smile on his face.
I'm also glad the con will be back at the same spot. I had a great experience there.

Notice, Zack Hoffman didn't charge a fee, neither did Larry, Mark, or anyone else.
When I contacted Slaughters agent a couple of years ago. I was given two prices. One for him to sign for free, and another lower price if he charged for his autographs himself.
Pretty standard, really.
I met Piper in 2005. No fees for anything.

People ask for that stuff ALL the time. It actually makes perfect sense that he would charge for it.
The Fan Expo guys pay the airfare and hotel for the guests - SOMETIMES a fee... but in the case of Piper, I doubt they paid him a fee. So yeah, I would totally expect him to want money for stuff.
Where the celebs become dicks is when they meet someone on the street, that person asks for an autograph, and they want money for it. Happened to a friend of mine years ago when we met someone from the Maple Leafs walking down a street in Toronto (I honestly don't know who it was - it was 12 years ago).
