I really like the idea of doing this in a park. Depends on when and where, but I'd like to be there as well.

Did something happen or go missing at Zedcon?

On topic:  I'd love to come out for a Joecanuck meeting, but it would be difficult for me.  I guess I'll have to see once there is a date for it.

Just pulling your leg Ed.  I forgot to had a smiley face after the sunken part for your backyard after the story you told me.  But I have seen it before for excavations if the contractors didn't pack it down enough.

The park idea is a bad one in my books.

It may keep the cost down, but then we'll have guys like Raptor and Collectorman digging through the grass looking for parts or weapons!
:-)

I may have an option open to us for using an empty store - for $25.00.
It would need some tables and chairs, and folks could still bring their own food and drink.

I should know more next month for sure.

As for Zedcon...... Just something that was said in private and I just now realized that I shouldn't of posted it..... sorry Zed if you're reading this.

Doom on you Mike...I'm not that bad...

I'm cool with having it just about anywhere, even though I think it'd be fun to make jokes of Ed's backyard.

Where ever it is, you better bring pepperettes Mike...

Oh the morning after eating a bunch of them. I don't want to venture down that road again.

I'm all for the dio-shoot!
But if it's scheduled the same weekend as the Toronto Comic/Anime/SF Expo, I may have a problem attending since I'll have a table at the expo.

With me planning on having a 'vacation'  in Aug this year, and the sci-fi/more crap than needs to go on convention, PLUS other peoples holidays  generally being taken in August, it's looking like that month won't be a go....

What about September?..

September sounds good. The kids will be back in school, we'll have all of (enter place here) to ourselves!

Speaking purely from my point of view, there are Pros and Cons to September:

Pros:
- I could theoretically attend Zedcon 2, which is looking like it'll be in August.
- I'll be back in work six days a week in September instead of two, meaning I can spend a bit more money on this kind of thing.
- Weather will be cooling down, so if I have to spend 3-9 am walking the streets of Toronto again, it will be more bearable.

Cons:
- If I'm working six days a week, it means I'm taking time off work.

I can't think of any more cons... Pros kicks Cons ass. I vote yes to September.
