Well I guess I'll share my big news here first. I have made the biggest purchase in my life. I just bought a house. No more renting for me. Its a fairly good sized duplex ( yss I bought the whole damn building.. both sides) Good part is that there is a tennant in the one side who's been there for 18 years and is staying ( tales care of most of the monthy payment there) and I will have the bottom half all to me. The best part is I"ll finally have a joe room, so I should be able to display most ( hopefully) all of my collection.
damn....I'm still trying to get used to the fact that I'll own a house come october.
here's to poverty !

Aaahhh home ownership. The next big hobby.
Like all things in life it has its ups and downs. Wouldn't have it any other way due to the freedom it offers.
-
congratulations! bought my first 6 years ago, and moved into my current just last july. sure, there's alot of costs at first because you're never happy with everything when you first move in, but sniper's right, there's something comforting about the freedom that comes with it being "yours".
do the joe room while you can....my blueprints were co-opted and redesigned into a playroom for the kids....(sigh)

That's awesome news, congrats. I'm still a few years away from owning, but the planning has already begun.
-
congrats deadshot! its just not a purchase, its an investment. Its already worth more then you paid for it. Its very exciting when you finaling get your owe place. Enjoy.

Congrads as well.
Are you still in Stratford?
-
Yep. I bought a house on the other side of town from where I am now.
I'll get some pics together once I take over it.
-
That is totally awesome news. Good for you. I personally don't mind working on my house (as you've seen) so besides the money you save/make, owing a house is also a hobby of sorts. Kind of like model building, except a lot bigger. It's cool to redo a room and when it's done you can say "Look what I made".

Congratulations!
Have fun with the Joe room...check out Ikea for some awsome display ideas or ask Raptor and BHM.

Add me to that list of people now using those Ikea display cabinets. Expensive but look very nice. Mind you, you should buy at least 2 of them. One for Cobra and one for Joe.

yeah those might be for a later date. Expensive is a bad word for me now.

And what, they just stare at each other across the room? Mingle! Fight! See how many Back-Stops you can stuff on one shelf!
Yeah, they're expensive, and they're a bit of a hassle to mount, but wow do I love the way they look. Think about it, Deadshot. Think about that big one year sale Ikea has.

congrats man. hope to get pics of your display once everything is settled.

It begins!! I just moved two FULL Van loads of Joes and other various household stuff In to a storage locker. Now I have room to move things about as we repaint the current pad.
4 weeks to finish packing, get all the paper work and legal crap done for the house and paint.... yeah we can do that. ( oh and work too can't forget that )
heh tomorrow will mark the 3rd week in a row I take a truckload of garbage to the dump. I keep asking myself right now... why in the hell did I keep this.
( loosing basment storage is both a drag and good at the same time)
-
I hear you on the 'why did I keep that' front Peter.
You have NO clue how many toys I tossed out from the backroom of the store while clearing it out.
Heck.... or just how many Joe items I GAVE AWAY.
