By now you've no doubt had a chance to read this month's newsletter. If you haven't, then go read it right now... I'll wait.
Done? Good.
As you know, we're allowing 25 sets to be pre-ordered now and for a pre-registration system to be started now as well.
It's one of the things people were interested in.... well, two, really. Pre-order sets and pre-registering.
I'll talk about the Registering vs. Pre-Registering first.
Registering:
When you attend the CanJoeCon, you're required to fill out the registration form, have it verified, and then pay your admission before entering. This option is still available, and we'll have those forms posted online within a week.
Pre-Registering:
What we're testing here is a pre-registering system where you purchase your admission now, then the morning of the convention, you're verified as the person on the registration and allowed in early. Yes, pre-registering will allow you admission to the convention 30 minutes early. There will be a designated line for those that have pre-registered and you will be our test subjects to see how well this option works for the 2012 convention. You will have to show ID for this option - as we need to make sure you are who you say you are and that you already paid.
Pre-Registering w/Con Set:
This option is something that we would like to do on a wider scale for 2012. So, we're allowing 25 Con sets to be pre-sold to members of JoeCanuck.com as both a thank you for making this site your "home", and as a way to test this option for 2012. To pre-register your set, you will have to pre-pay for it (like all other conventions), and bring your "invoice" with you to the convention. Don't worry if you lose it, we'll have a master list at the convention anyway. For these lucky 25 people, your admission is included in the con set price. You will still have to bring photo ID to verify it is in-fact you that reserved the set. Your address must match that of your invoice as well. The one per household, per person rule is still very much in effect, and always will be unless we hit 200 or more convention exclusives.
While at the site, if you are interested in purchasing a 2011 Convention T-Shirt, then you'll have to pre-order that as well. As always, shirts are only purchased to order. Meaning, we only order shirts made for people that want shirts. The cut off date for shirts will be June 1st.
Same applies to the comic books. If you can't attend, we will mail you a comic (shipping charges apply). However, you will only have a short time to pre-order the comics, as we do have to send the info to the printers by May 2nd.
IMPORTANT:
You can add all items you wish to pre-order to the same order/cart. But beware, while you have a pre-registered set in your cart, someone else can add it as well. It's a first-check out, first-get deal on the storefront. Nothing can be done about it.
Now, when can you start pre-ordering and pre-registering?
THIS Monday, April 25th at 7pm EST/ 4pm PST
At that time, an entirely new section on this message board will appear at the TOP of the page and those with the minimum amount of posts required will be allowed in to access the store url. Once the con sets are sold, that posting will be moved to this section of the site for everyone to pre-register, or pre-order shirts, comics, etc.
Anyone found ordering more than one set, or ordering a set for a non-JoeCanuck.com user (or a friend) will have their account removed.
You guys asked for things to be done this way, so don't ruin it by trying to screw over collectors that do play by the rules.
Any questions? Please ask them in here ASAP.
Thanks,
Mike

So we can order the Con set, an extra Comic, and the Con T- Shirt and have it all paid for now.... SWEET! More Cash available for the CON!
I'm going to assume the Con T-Shirts are Adult sizes only again? Or will there be Kid sizes available?

Medium to XXXL is available.
There won't be enough demand in offering anything smaller than those sizes to warrant a layout charge.

Wow, that was a Super Fast Response! Thanks for giving this option for us!
-
this is a great idea, nice job

Great idea. And the fact that you plan to expand it for 2012 is even better news. Thanks!

Of course.

Is it first come, first served? Or is it 25 invites sent out?
I ask because I am working afternoons.
-
What happnes if you pre register w/con set and can't make the con for some reason (i.e. emergency, etc.). Can you still get the con set? Pick up/mailed out? Complete refund?

Your con set will be sold off to someone else at the convention and you will get a refund within a week.
Here, maybe this will help you all. This is the description included with the con set in the CanJoeCon store come Monday at 7pm EST:
Cost includes ONE 2011 Canadian G.I. Joe Convention set to be secured for pick up* at the event on Saturday, June 18th 2011 and your admission to the convention itself.
If selecting this option, the following will apply:
- Must have a minium of XXXXX posts on JoeCanuck.com's message board. (Include your username with your order)
- You must be present at the Convention. No one else can pick up the convention set for you - NO EXCEPTIONS.
- One convention set per ADDRESS, per PERSON.
- Valid photo ID, with address is required (Driver's License, Passport). The ID presented must not be expired.
- NO phone bills or other forms of ID will be accepted.
- Convention set must be picked up by noon. Failure to pick up convention set by that time will result in the con set being sold to someone else at the event, and your money refunded.
We are not revealing the amount of posts needed to gain access to the CJC registration section yet. This is to avoid those that don't normally post on the site from "boosting" their posting count just to get the set then vanishing from the board again.
-
SWEET!!! Let the Madness begin on Monday at 7pm!
-
First come, first served, huh? How many will be "invited" I wonder..........
Crackberry dont fail me now.
This reminds me of a few years ago with the chance to get Snowbank before the Con. I was a lurker then really and managed to snag one over a lot o regulars. Felt bad about it actually.

Mike - another question:
Does prepaying have to be done right at the time of pre-registration? Can it wait a night if my BB won't let me do a payment?

Yes, the site won't let you process the order/registration until it's been paid for.
Just follow the instructions, read things through and you shouldn't have any issues.
Also, I SUGGEST that you guys pre-order your con sets w/ registration FIRST before adding T-Shirts and comics, etc. After you've secured your set, then come back to the site and pre-order the other items you want. Otherwise, someone else may "check out" with your con set.
-
Thanks for the info!
-
Can we include the EARLY registration(Friday Night) in this as well? I enjoyed hanging out on Friday last year!
-
Less then 24 hours to Pre-registration! Go and POST something!
-

No. If you pre-register for Saturday here, or the con set/reg deal. Then it will be another $10.00 the night before at the door. We'll have the registered list handy, no worries there. ;)
-
In the past, the con sets have been numbered. Will numbers, 2-26 be available on preregistration day or will they be randomly selected and distributed on the day of the con?
-
They are always randomly selected.
Sets #1-10 are generally reserved for con-staff.

I heard a rumor that the minimum post count was 7000. ::) So nobody can pre-register! ;D
I'm sure the number is low, I will guessing it will be 50 posts.
-
How long will the store URL be up for pre-orders?
-
I couldn't hit the URL on my BB......but massive props to my wife for getting it done! It pays to have a spouse more tech savvy than yourself. Didn't even wince at the cost.
-
I got my set, Shirt, Extra Comic and a trading card that I was missing!
-
Easy system! Not like the Snowbank sadness!
-
...plus paying for it now, means I won't feel guilty for buying stuff at the Con because this money is already spent!!!!
And my paypal balance wasn't doing anything for me anyway...
-
... I completely forgot about it... I did it at 7:30... and I was #17 ;D

Wow, I thought for sure they would be gone within a half hour or even sooner.
-
In fact, I was so in the rush because I completely forgot about the preregistration, I jumped to my computer, went through JC, then I browsed everywhere to find the URL, found it, hit NEXT almost every time then paid.
In fact, I'm not even sure of what I got :shifty:

DUDE you got the wrong thing! You just bought the Timbits for the CJC! :timbits:
Joking!
-
Can we ask who was first to order the set? I know Neo got his set before me.
-
the order that we purchased doesn't affect the numer of the set that you recieve...
Mike said sale 1 & 2 were tests, so whoever closed third...
But it doesn't really mean anything.
-
I just wanted to know who of us was the quickest, I spent so much time registering....
-
Just consider yourself lucky you got one. :)
-
BTW, what was the minimum number of posts required?

It would seem someone mis-read the Pre-Registering rules for securing a 2011 Canadian JoeCon set. I was just informed that he can't attend. SO............. one set has been put back up on the CJC store for pre-registering.
This post, and the post I'm going to make at Facebook in about 2 minutes are the only mentions of this.
