I was at a TRU yesterday and I saw they had the Captain America, Green Lantern and Priates of the Caribean figs out. Is any one going to collect any of these lines or buy for new parts for Customs?
I was not impressed at all from the Green Lantern line at all, the worst for posing. I will pass on the whole line unless there is a good head for a custom. If I ever make one.

The Priates of the Caribean is one that I will look at for custom fodder, but that is all. The ghost face that appears when under a Black light is interesting!

With Captain America, the jury is still out on that one. I saw one of the vehicles the Off Road Shield, it looks great But.... I did not like the cockpit at all! but at $24.99 for that "Jeep" it may still be worth it.

The Red Skull and Crossbones figures look amazing for the Captain America line. I can't wait to get my hands on them.

I grabbed a GL Jordan figure out of pity. Lego sets are filling my POTC needs.
Looking forward to some Cap figs - Crossbones and Hydra Trooper. Maybe USAgent.
-
I looked at the GL figures last night. The heads are nice, but the figures are pretty disappointing. No articulation in the arms. Legs that only go forward and back. When you have a product like POC, why can't the other toys manufacturers step up and get in the game and make a decent product.
I won't be buying any of the GL figures. I am just happy with my straight arm Green Lantern from the Super Heroes set from the 80's.

If you want a nice 4" GL with good articulation, look for the 2010 re-release of Hal Jordan as part of the Infinite Heroes 75th release. Sadly - too little, too late.

Im sticking to the Dc Universe green lantern figures. not a fan of the movie figures. In my opinion, all movie figures suck! Even the Gi Joe ones. :(
-
I picked up Winter Soldier and Battle Field Captain America. They are pretty sweet figures. I was disappointed with the Battle Field Captain America because it is just a repaint of the SDCC exclusive. I already have the SDCC Cap (which I paid a lot more than what I bought the new one for), fortunately my son convinced me I should give him the Captain America figure.
My friend picked up the Crossbones figure in the states. It is a great figure. Perfect for making some "bad @ss" custom figures.

I was at the store the other day to specifically check out the new green lantern figures because i am really stoked about the movie. How unfortunate for Mattel that they have not figured out how to match the quality and articulation of most every other toy out this summer. It was almost like taking a trip back to the mid eighties with these green lantern figures, no elbow or knee articulations, and the wide crotch as well. The most amazing thing to me is that they are trying to charge close to the same price for these that hasbro charges for the Marvel figures, which are loaded with articulation and playability. All i can say is this is a major dissapointment.

I was at Walmart this morning and was very pleased to see Wave 2 Captain America figures were out. I bought Crossbones, Red Skull, Movie Captain, USAgent and Bucky Captain America. I passed on the Arctic Cap and Captain Britain.
The Red Skull is just as awesome as the picture. It is perfect for making some sweet Cobra customs.

I'm with gijoecarlos. Movie figures usually suck....except for vintage Star Wars. Those were awesome at the time. I can't recall another movie line where the figures didn't suck.
Neca, Reeltoyz and McFarlane figures do not count in this category if you ask me.

The Crysis-2 4" figures are good figures, I thought. Modest value too--although they are $10. They do come with extra squad weapons with tripod stands, or added pistols and extra bits--depending on the figure. Detail is very good, and articulation is comparable to the weaker POC figures.
They DO expand the weapons choices for Joes ( or COBRAs, I suppose) and the Nomad/Alcatraz figures make for interesting counterparts to the Accelerator suit Joes. The Cell trooper is a kinda funky heavily armoured trooper, and he could work as a Joe or a COBRA.
Unfortunately, the figures do NOT have peg-holes in their feet, so standing them can be a challenge. Poster putty might be the order of the day here, or make them a vehicle crewman.
I found mine at my LCS ( local comic shop).

Waiting on Thundercats right now..........

I just saw this at a TRU for $79.99 and it looks AWESOME! the only issue is that it comes with no figures and you need to buy there "Alpha" vehicles to attach to it to make it more "playable"
Pirates of the Caribbean - Queen Anne's Revenge Playset

bandy, those are 59.99 at walmart in the states, but same thing you have to buy other sets to build it, good thing is, they are joe scale, it is not just the alpha vheicles you need but also the figures come with parts also.
-
I would love to see Shipwreck being the captain of that ship! I'm very tempted to buy this.
-
Or customs of Shipshape, Leatherhead, Frogface and Da-Duke on it ;D
-
hahaha... I could make that the GI Joe Naval Training vessel! If you can sail this then the Flagg would be a breeze! $59.99 USD is a great price but shipping would kill me as the box is Huge! I will hope for a Sale at TRU!
Avast ye landlubbers!
-
That is pretty cool, I saw the Lego Pirate Ship the other day as well and that is totally amazing as well.
-
Are your lkcal Walmarts carrying Captain America figs? Mine has nothing!!!! I did see a jet vehicle at TRU the other day (can't remember the name) and it might make for good custom fodder even though I had not seen a picture of it before.
-
No not yet. Since they clogged the pegs with those crappy Green Lanturn figs at $9.97 (Are they kidding?!!!)
-
i could pick it up for you bandy and meet you, one night after class.

That would be awesome, but please do not buy it now, not sure when my wallet is ready for it. I just spent alot of money on drywall for the basement so my Joe budget has been decimated until I finish my basement reno.
-
Of course now that I have said my Walmart doesn't have Cap figs, what do I find today?
Captain America Figures!!!! They had a whole isle display with wave 2 figures and vehicles.
-
We're getting like an odd number of TF Generations figures here. My friend and I found a Dirge, and a Blur, but they come in the same case as Kup, which we haven't seen any of.
I feel like Zellers and Walmart do have them, they just have too many ROTF figures warming the pegs to stock new ones.
I'm kinda glad I'm not really into any of the DOTM figures apart from the Blackout scout that I got at Wal-Mart awhile ago. They're just not very appealing, especially because of the size of the deluxe figures. The one figure I would buy is the voyager class IronHide but if he has the same transformation as Special/Night Ops(i forget which, he's black and has white streaks) Iron Hide than he's just a pain in the ass to transform, and more frustration than fun.
My coworker just bought a leader class Sentinel Prime and he's actually pretty awesome but he's one of those transformers you just leave in alt or robot mode for long periods of time because it's a big ordeal to change them.
-
i do that anyway.
my RiD Megatron typically sits on my tower in either bat mode or Dragon mode, whilst my Bayformers Prime, Bumblebee and Sideswipe stand in robot mode on my desk...
when i had my RiD Autobots on display, tehy were always in robot mode. RiD Prime and Magnus were king-size PITA to transform.
-
I bought DOTM voyager Shockwave yesterday. Pretty rad.
-
I agree about DOTM Shockwave. I grabbed him this weekend at TRU for $20.
The original Shockwave was one of my first Transformers. He had an unfortunate meeting with a screw driver, and was never the same after. When I saw the new one, I had to have him. It's not the same as the original, but at least I have my Shockwave again.
-
I picked up the Captain America Strikefire Armored Vehicle, it's actually not bad, would make a great Joe or Cobra custom, it can hold two figs, comes with a decent motorcycle, the Captain America figure it comes with is not the greatest, but it's ok. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the spring launch missiles, but they're on every toy now. I also got US Agent, and Crossbones. Next up for me, Red Skull and the Off Road Avenger vehicle.
-
If anybody's interested in the 8 inch cloth Mego-style Retro-Action DC Superheroes, my TRU just brought back out an old case of wave 1 and 2 (the Superman/Green Arrow and Batman/Aquaman series respectively). Wave 4 (Shazam/Martian Manhunter series) is still on the shelves and moving slowly, so it was a big surprise to me.
I'm buying these for someone else and HOPE they bring out wave 3 (the Wonder Woman/Flash series) as it never hit the shelves before.

Found some Power Rangers Samurai at TRU yesterday.
They're pretty decent 4" figures. Now if only Bandai could learn about arm swivel.
