Title: Extreme Troop Joes...new carded Chinese ripp offs!?
Post by: Spillspleen on February 05, 2004, 01:33:00 PM: I have one and have another case of 48 on the way of Extreme Troop Joes...anyone seen these?

The set includes 10 figures on card and list them as so:

Cobra Commander...from Brazil
Firefly...from Mexico
StormShadow...fromfrom japan
Baroness...from france
General hawk...from U.S.A
Law and Order...from Germany
Snake Eyes...from Spain
Dial Tone...fromCanada
Dusty...from Britian
Undertow...from Italy

They are all Chinese ripp offs but look cool...any one want to see pictures let me know...or if some knows how to post some I will send...!!!

From the perspective of a vintage Star Wars bootleg collector, i find these fairly interesting. By the looks of the articulation they appear to be direct bootlegs from the Funskool Pepsodent figures...i think that as more and more people get interested in the Joe line, it's only natural to assume that interest in items such as this will increase as well.

I didn't know they were showing up everywhere or else I wouldn't have tried to buy 2 sets. 1 for me and I thought I'd get as much of a second set for anyone at the meet today.
Figures are kinda crappy, but some of the weapons are O.K. Like Undertow, the one I had from the BJ's set now matches the other 2 I have and it beats buying cast off parts for $1.00 a piece :D

The Giant Tiger near my house sold out once already (uh, beacuse I bought them all :evil: ) and they have re-stocked since then. I'd try looking again in a few days but make sure you look in the 99 cent section and NOT with the other toys. In my area they are stuck in with birthday supplies which happens to be in the 99 cent section.

Undertow is a army builder, which means people are willing to get doubles of him to set up a small army.

I have not seen these fake Joes in my area yet.

Undertows are great for stealing the weapons (from the ones you bought) for any BJ's Undertows you might have or for just fixing up your original Undertows if they had no weapons. I haven't gotten around to trying yet but the heads might fit on 82, 83 figures as well, for customs.

Those are called "X-Troop", and mine are called "X-Treme Troop". Also, mine do not have actual codenames like the auction ones, each soldier just has their country of origin. Still, it'd be interesting to see what they'd fetch, since apparantly, the Yanks want them.

Post by: Radio Guy on February 23, 2004, 09:04:11 PM: Looking at Yo Joe Dot Com's bootleg figure section, it would seem that around 2000/2001, a bunch of molds were made (or stolen) and since then, figures have been popping up from different countries. They all seem to have the same weapons and it's the same 10 figures, but with some slight variations. The SP Forces ones are almost Identical to these new X-Troop/X-Treme Troop figures.

I didn't see the harm in putting them up as long as I started the bid at a fair price and basically a buck a figure seems fair. Mind you I paid a buck Canadain per figure and got a buck a figure in U.S. funds.
Basicly I'm gonna sell things off as I find them around the house for the U.S. funds for florida this summer. :thumbsup:
