My Favorite Joe Con moment...
« on: August 11, 2010, 08:08:21 PM »

A Boy came up to my table, maybe around 7 years old (with his dad) and fished out a incomplete tiger sting out of one of my boxes.
" oh dad look...a tiger sting, ive been looking for this one forever! ( I was impressed by his knowledge)
"Dad please lets get this" then he asks me how much...I say 5 bucks...what a deal.
"dad can we get this?"
"sorry son,Im tapped out.I only have enough left for a cup of coffee"
Kid turns to me...
"excuse me sir...could you lower this to the price of a cup of coffee?"
Priceless.I couldnt help myself.I gave the kid the sting for free.Too cute.
the next generation at its best.
Keep diggin kid. :cobra:

Coffee has no price, especially Starbucks Coffee, mmmm....

That's really priceless Propergrounds. Good move indeed. That kid will remember what you did for him and the Joe con, I'm sure.

Yeah, a couple dealers gave my son a discount.  One sold him a dollar store type beach head for 50 cents and another discounted him some accessories.  I think there was another instance of it also.  I thought that was very cool.  The one dealer actually said, "it's for him right?" and then gave the discount.  He had a blast at the freebie table also.

I love those kind of stories, that was very nice of you.  And it encourages the kids to come back next year.

The freebie table was amazing this year, I saw boxed Alpha Wave 3 vehicles in there. Just awesome.

I took ALOT of pix throughout the day, but one I took of a kid playing with a Headquarters playset was one of my favourites...

Your link is broken, funny if you cut and paste it, it works fine.  The kid is so happy.
