Since I've been asked this alot lately, what month do you think would be a good month for the next 'Canadian Joe Meet'?

We may not have anything 'exclusive' this time around, but there will be Timbits!

Post any thoughts or suggestions.
Thanks.

I personally would like to have it when it's a bit warmer out.

We could have it at a park or something - avoid the cost of renting a hall.

Hell, we could have it in my back yard.

Your backyard?

How big is it?

The only downfall I see there is weather..... wind, rain, etc.

Does Mrs. Damed Viper know about this post?

My backyard is big enough to hold the amount of people that came to this past one. Not huge, but not tiny either.

As for the weather, you have a vaild point - mind you, I do have a garage we could clear out and use in that case.

As for the wife, it wouldn't bother her a bit. You forget I have one of the best wives in toy fandom.  :D

I was just using my place as an example - it doesn't have to be there. I was just thinking it would be a good way to keep costs down.

August would be a good month for me, at least I hope...

I could probably swing funds to make my way west by then.  I could certainly get as far west as Montreal without spending a dime, since my brother's the best there is and would drive all the way here, pick me up, and take me that far!  He's the reason I got into Joes in the first place, this is just further proof as to why he rocks.   :D

But, er, anyway, yeah sometime in August would be good.  I'd really like to meet y'all.

While I'm still not sure if my contract here will be extended to let me keep my job past June 9th, my boos seems confident this will happen.  So with that in mind I got asked today when I would want to take vacation time over the summer, assuming I am permitted by the government to stay in my current job.

Either way this would be the best time for me to travel and do stuff.  So c'mon everybody, chime in!  Even if everybody agrees August would be a bad time, that would at least help me plan my vacation schedule.   :D

I would really like to see more customs at the con this year. Maybe an on scene dio shoot or something. It was cool to stand around and talk, but now that I've done that, I kind of thing that doing something more activity based would be fun... Customizing on site would be fun too.

I am in as much as I can be, but keep in mind that I have a little one coming out in late Aug early Sept, so I might not be able to help as much as I'd like to.

Any date that's not September is good for me, but if you want to start anything by August of this year, you'd better get moving on it.

Hey, we talking about a second get together this year? That would be cool. If it was around the Toronto comic con, it might attract some more Joe fans.

I like Raptor's thinking; that there be a more active theme for the con. Trading and chatting was a blast, especially for me since I was meeting everyone for the first time, but putting together a Team Canada custom project and then working out a little dio would be a blast. Unless there are too many type-A personalities and the whole thing ends in a big fight...

I didn't expect one this soon. August would be good, even if it's Ed sunken backyard.   I like the idea of a dio shoot.

I don't want an exclusive this time around.  That experience left a sour taste for most people that were there.

A dio shoot would be fantastic!

I've never customized a figure before, but maybe I could whip something together for this.  It is a special event after all...

Ughhh...... Aug.?

Saturday, or Sunday?

I think it's better if we leave the location to a place that doesn't belong to any of us.......  After hearing about what happened at Zedcon in the U.S. this year, I'd hate for anything of Ed's (joe or not) to go missing.

That, and who the hell wants to visit Vineland?!

Sunken?  :chicken:  It's a little uneven, granted... but not sunken. I am doing MAJOR work out there this year, so it should be a lot better by the fall.

That said, I agree with Mike - it would be best not to have it at a residence. Although I still think a park/outside would alleviate a lot of costs. Everyone can bring a cooler with some food, etc.

More of a get together of collectors than a "con" per se.
