Title: X-MEN ORIGINS WOLVERINE variants?
Post by: morgardee on March 15, 2010, 09:38:26 AM
I was at Walmart yesterday and saw a bunch of the X-MEN ORIGINS WOLVERINE figures on sale for $2.00 each. For $2.00 a figure, why not?

So I was looking thru them and noticed there was only one of each of some figures. Are there varaints in this line as well, and if so, are they hard to come by?

This is what I picked up:
Tiger Strip Wolverine (looked more orange then yellow)
Tiger Strip Wolverine without mask (looked yellow)
Dead Pool
Dead Pool movie version (creepy looking dude)
Cyclops
Logan (Wolverine in normal clothes, comes with extra set of normal hands and an axe)

So anyone follow these figures and was I right in thinking that some of these are harder to find?

The Logan figure screams to be remade into a 25th style Timbit figure so I might have to do that some day. All he needs is a bit paint and a dremel to take off his side burns and he's good to go. He has the axe and everything (no Beaver or Timbits  >:().

They aren't variants. There is another reason for the low numbers... :shifty:

You were at the fairview mall walmart in kitchener, and those happened to be what were left on the shelves after I hit the pegs harder than a Irishman hits a bottle. ;-) Those are the ones that I were looking for for customs and things, so I bought multiples. I left at least one of everything though, to be fair.

Ha. I will remember that I owe you a visit, but I was really very briefly stopping on my way elsewhere when I found them.

Someone else has my tastes. I wish I'd scored more cyclopses though, they are going to make a great army builder.

Also, if you see the Movie Sabertooth or Iceman figures, pick them up. Best in the line.

You're lucky, Morg. I haven't seen that unmasked Wolverine in the sale.

And yeah, I'm with Raps. That Movie Sabretooth is really sweet.
I also quite like the brown-costumed Wolverine, and the jacketed Hugh Jackman Logan.

I found some X-men figures at Winners while searching for Joes.  May be worth a check?
