Title: Interesting observation about POC
Post by: ARROW on December 19, 2010, 03:11:18 PM
In the course, of Christmas shopping in the past 2 weeks--I made notice of the GIJOE product stocked in my locale stores.

Specifically that almost all the vehicles are gone.

There's figures from waves 1,2, &3 in stock to be sure.......but most of the vehicles have vanished. They had stuck on the shelves here for months......with little sign of movement, and now....poof.
Granted this is one locale, so its probably not a national consensus by any stretch.......but I am recalling the famous Hasbro sentiment that GIJOE really only sells well during X-mas time.

It appears to remain true, at least here.

must be your area. For me in Winnipeg MB, I have only seen two figures from wave 2 and one from wave 3. In fact my local Wal-Mart has ZERO pegs for joes and a small bottom shelf for the vehicles. My local Zellers also has ZERO pegs for joes and only 3 vehicles at all.

I don't know what's going on down here in the states.  Target seems to not be carrying joe vehicles just wave 1 and 2 figures.  Most wal-marts don't have any joes at all, but some have the figures and vehicles (I've seen the new vamp once and when I was there again, it was gone).  In toys r us I see the figures and some vehicles

I'm in Cold Lake Alberta, at both Wal-Mart and Zellers, there have been several restocks of Wave 1 and 2 figs, haven't seen any wave 3 yet. We never got any of the Wave 1 Alpha vehicles, though the Wave 1 Bravos did show up and are currently the only Joe items that seem to be staying on the shelves, no wave 2 vehicles up here at all. Though Zellers is stocking the Mechs. There are still a couple of Target exclusive sets, alot of Pit Assaults sets, and a few Cover Girls from Rise of Cobra collecting dust at the Zellers as well. I picked up the last RHINO they had when the price dropped to 39.99.

There has certainly been an upswing in sales in my area at this time of year. Figs from wave 1 and 2 that were warming the pegs disappeared a couple of weeks ago.

Figures are flying off the shelves in my area. I keep seeing empty pegs. The Bravo vehicles are doing OK, Alphas and Mechs not moving that well.

I went to 2 Walmarts in the States and it's the same as here 1 had no peg for Joes or any Joes at all and 1 had wave 1 and 2 and lots of vehicles.  Targets had wave 2 lots of them and Big K(Kmart)had some wave 2 and some ROC figures and lots of Hiss tanks--brown I checked.
