You cave to go to these small specialist craft shops like Wal*Mart, Zellers and Shoppers Drug Mart to find it. Not sure if there are any in your area...

Seriously man, almost every department store has the stuff, and it's been around for like 30 years. Walmart has it with the bleach, Zellers has it with the fabrics. The packaging looks like it hasn't changed since the 70's. Just ask for fabric dye, and some kindly greeter will point you in the right direction.

A note. Don't buy it in dollar stores. Pay the extra .47 for the real stuff. I used some crap called tintex, and it did not work for me.

Oh, and I have a "Stunt Viper" head for you sitting on my computer desk. PM me with your address, or maybe we can work out a visit after work...

Sorta hijacking this thread, but still RIT related...are the pots used in the RIT process still safe to be used for the normal food-cooking afterwards?

I would really not reccomend that. I picked up a steel pot a Value Village for 3 bucks just for the purpose.

I've hot water washed it after every try, and it's already stained after about 5 dyes. I also notice discoloration in the water before I put the dye in...

I could only imagine how your tongue would look after having some KD in the dye pot...

Hey Raptor, I tried it last night. I used a Warthog driver Slaughter and Play-doh loving Clutch. Clutch was alright but I totally warped Slaughter torso. Do you take the figures all the way apart or throw them in whole.

Also, I think I warped them because I turned up the heat half way thru just to see what would happen. I guess now I know (and knowing is half the battle).

Patience grasshopper. First keep everything with a screw together. Keep the legs together, keep the torso together. separate everything else. Also, bend the legs once half way through, and the arms as well, so that you don't get any blank spots. Use low heat, and check frequently. When you pull them out, immediately immerse them in cold water.

I've got another batch coming soon, where I'm doing just about every color of weapon mike could find for me, and some star wars figures.
