Toy Traders dios = Unbelievable
« on: November 25, 2005, 04:24:53 AM »

In another thread I mentioned that Carl took me over to Toy Traders to kill some time on Tuesday.  I finished my last environmental inspection early today and decided to head over there instead of waiting in Vancouver Int. Airport for 5 hours.  I was better able to absord the dios the second time around.  My neck was sore from the night before (hotel puffy pillow = sore neck)

Below are several pictures that I took.  If you click on the picture twice, you will get a much larger view. I would like to thank Matthew Purdy of Toy Traders in Langley, BC for allowing me to take pictures and posting them for joecanuck.   This by far is the best set up I have ever scene in regards to GI JOE.  His Heman and Star Wars dios were great as well (I can post those pictures later).

Wow! I want to play there.

So, the Rock Vipers in the last picture, did I miss something because I want to know how those guns are stuck to the figures back packs.

One of those dios would've blown my mind. But all of them... It still is not registering in my head 100%. Simply amazing.

As for Morgardee's question, the guns have always been able to snap on to the Rock Vipers' packs.

This is why I am going to use Joeindex as my default GI JOE reference  as I didn't know about the gun and backpack thing as well

If it weren't for the baby, I'd be doing a roadtrip this weekend.

Hmm. I wonder how many frequent flier miles I have.

Nah, it was a 2001 built building and I did the inspection their last year.  I do an easy building on the day I fly in and out.  The last thing you want is to miss your flight or I would have to stay another day.

Those dios really are cool.
I have to imagine that the store is massive.  What is the stuff that is for sale like - how are their shelves set up with those distrations above?

The store is big.  It was so big that I was surprised to see kids riding around in the toy cars in there.   Pretty cool to watch.

The figures and vehicles for sale were set up in glass cabinets, eye level, on the floor.   You set it on the webpage  http://www.toytraders.ca/gijoe1.html  I didn't bother taking pictures of this.

Stuff for sale included most of the regular guys from 1982 to around 1992.  Prices would be comparable to ebay from 3-4 years ago when GI JOE hit it's peak.  I just bought some 4 bucks figures and some animals for my dios (penguins, polar bears).
