General Joe Talk / Army building!

I am for any where from 3 for specialists - 6 for regular infantry, and then 9 or 12 for the figures I really like.

A terror drome just looks a zillion times better with a dozen or so of the same troop kicking around.

Wow- is all I can say, this really is a great set of figures - I only have minor complaints about some figures, but overall this was the best luck I have had with a complete set from the very beginning.
I have always ended up with some goofy figure with two left arms - seized hips-arms-legs, crappy paint jobs etc.

But this wave is really near perfect.

My only real complaints are Hulk is kind of lame in terms of his articulation.
Dr. Strange's hands are posed funky.
War Machine's fire stuff is flimsly and doesn't really stay in place.

Again, these are all just minor complaints.

Here is the just a brief description of the good...
Galactacus was a tonne of fun to put together - saved Prof X to open till the end, simply to put big G's head on last.
Bullseye has individual movement on each of his fingers.
NightCrawler is like he just popped out of the comic - all the fingers and toes move indipendently.
Dr. Strange's cape is an action figure on it's own -massive and flowing.

Big thanks to BountyHunter Mike - for getting these sets for me - makes my life so much better not to have to fight to find them at ToysRus.

-Sorry for the people who read JoeCustoms.com as I am cutting and pasteing this over there in one of the threads already going.

General Joe Talk / 1985 Sears Christmas Wishbook GI Joe scans
« on: March 15, 2005, 05:33:24 PM »
Just think of the extra savings if you purchased the two sears exlusive Cobra tanks - I would be out of so much money.

And I agree the sears cataluge (of the past) is amazing, I just wish I could call and place my order today.

I almost was thrilled to see Power Team Elite in this years wish book. Sadly no Joes were seen on any of the pages.

Off Topic / Spiderman villians
« on: March 14, 2005, 08:23:34 AM »
Over the weekend I was amazed to find some of the villians from the spiderman line that have been out in the US since well before Christmas.

Scorpion - is a great comic version of this character - not a huge fan of the spring loaded tail feature, but it can be overlooked - and doesn't really take away from the appearance of the figure.

Lizard - don't know if I am a big fan of the new comic book version of the lizard, but this figure is a great rendition of him - looks perfect to the one pictures in the comic that comes with the Marvel Legends 8 figure Man-Thing.

Now, to find Sandman, and I am loving the way Mysterio looks - and no goofy built in action gimicks on either of these two.

Ontario / Tumble Weeds are blowing by.
« on: February 13, 2005, 08:24:01 AM »
Here we are, the middle of February, and I have not seen a single joe pack on the shelves at either ToysRus or WalMart since before Christmas.
I only found part of Wave 4 on that day anyway, it was like the ToysRus I was in only had 1 case to put on the shelves.
I also can't find any of the new Transformers Alternators.

I know this isn't much of a sightings post, but I thought after a dry spell of nobody posting, it would be nice to see that I am not the only one, or maybe it is just me, and I am not looking in the right places.

General Joe Talk / Upcoming carded comic 3 pack pictures
« on: February 05, 2005, 11:00:15 AM »
This really bothers me, the first Joe product to come along where I would buy one to open and one to display - and I have never seen any at retail.

hasbro really goes out of their way, to not take money from me.

I am almost to the point of saying screw it.

Wow, Hasbro knows how to make retailers and fans smile.

As I read your description, I was picturing a booth, that was decorated in bland gray colours, staffed with people in dark gray suits, looking down at you in disgust for even suggesting different ways in wich they could sell their prodcut.

I am interested in them - I really wish I could have gotten all of them that have been released so far without having to pay ebay and shipping.
