Ontario / Season 1 part 2
« on: July 07, 2004, 08:58:10 AM »
I got mine from Amazon.ca - $86.  I looked everywhere for the first part and couldn't find it and had to break down and buy it online - so I didn't even try to find this one at retail.

General Joe Talk / Comic 3 packs

Now that the con is in full swing - is there any word if Canada will get these?  This would be the first new Joe item, that I would purchase to have one in package to display and one to open - plus another to customize.

Mike - have you seen them on an order list at all?

Damn I want these!

This apparently isn't at all of the TRU, as I was in Brampton today (ahhrgg, I hate being in Brampton!) and they had several of the G1 releases at full price, however they had several of them that I havn't seen in a long time - Rodimus Prime, Hot-Rod, ThunderCracker, Ultra Magnus etc.
However they were all full price, lowest price was $39.99

Ontario / Wave 3 VvV in Canada
« on: June 27, 2004, 01:42:18 PM »
was at both WalMarts in hamilton (that I know of) and they had Wave 3, picked up a snow wolf/ bat pack finally - I think I am in the minority, but I really like the Snow Wolf/Snow Serpent figure - would army build if I could find him.

The bat is also in better colours, no more purple bike shorts!

I saw a while ago that they had the Grunt/Destro 2 pack, that is one of the few that I missed (along with the Zarana/Gung-Ho pack)  of course by the time I got there they were sold out - and yep, lots of Barrol Rolls, and other Wave 5 figs (no army builders of course)

Just saw them today, and they were all priced at $19.97 down for the $30 regular. - still to much for me to go and buy them, as I was a fan of the line when I was a kid, but havn't got hooked on them yet.

Thought I would give the heads up to anyone, who is looking for these!

Ontario / BTR Liquidated at Party Packagers
« on: June 20, 2004, 06:43:28 PM »
Sorry, I meant to say, BTR, not BTW, but they had the Quad/Locust/Cobra Boat/Raven and Forest Truck.

I can't remember the names of those vehicles, they didn't however have the Armadillo or the Hovercraft.

Party Packagers is a store that sells balloons and loot bag type stuff - basically party stuff.  But they also have a large inexpensive toy section, that I am assuming they aquire the product at insanely low prices!

They also sell whoppee cushions for $.33!

Saw all of the smaller sets there today, all with a price tag of around $5 - don't really remember.

They had mountains of these sets so I am not guessing they are going to sell out any time soon.

Ontario / Wave 2 US Packaging at Walmart
« on: June 18, 2004, 11:42:44 AM »
Just saw them today, if anyone was looking for the US carded version of Wave 2.
Same price, but I also go the impression that this wave may soon be discounted at WalMart, as I saw the restock sheets, and the assortment number and breif description was for Wave 3 - but there was no room for Wave 3.
They also had the Destro 12" and Gung-Ho 12" figures.

I do wish they would get the vehicles, but I guess some stuff is better than nothing!

Off Topic / Marvel Legends 6
« on: June 16, 2004, 11:06:14 PM »
Not really Marvel Legends related but close.
I stopped at TRU today on my way home from work, and picked up the Ultimate Rhino and Black Costume Spider-man, for the recent wave of Spiderman figs.  I havn't seen these at all in store, and I think Canada missed a wave because I never saw any Carnage figures.

Anyway, the Rhino is really cool - I prefer the original Rhino's classic look, but he was lacking some decent articulation.  The Black costume SpiderMan is great, the glider he came with is lame, and is not the same as in the package art, but I really bought him for the figure anyway.  The best Black Cosutme Spidey to date. and the previous one wasn't that bad either.

I am going to go back and pick up the Cyber Spiderman figure as he looked pretty cool with all the little bits of armour and stuff, I will pass on the spiderman/peter park changing figure with detachable limbs as it doesn't look that great, and appears ackward to change back and forth.

Can't wait for the Sinister Six set!

The only place I have seen Prime in the last 3 or 4 weeks, has been ToysRus and he is still priced at the $90 range.
