Army Surplus stores
« on: August 07, 2009, 05:43:04 PM »

Are there any in southern Ontario anymore?
I know they used to be in every city - Hamilton had several, Toronto had 3 on yonge street but that was 15-20 years ago.

Specifically I am looking for parkas and pants.

Novacks in London used to have surplus.  Not sure if they do anymore or not.

There is K-W Surplus in Kitchener on Victoria street North.  They carry army style clothing.  Store has a Russian Tank parked out front and a replica Spitfire on the roof.

Is that the big Flea Market on Dundas?

I can't remember what it's called - but if that is it, then that's where I remember seeing a lot.

Novacks is in the heart of downtown near the Galleria.

Oh, okay.

I can't remember what the big place on Dundas is called (out in near Second, I think) but I remember there being a lot of Army surplus there.  Granted, that was five years ago...

I think you are thinking of the Gibraltar Market on Dundas Street in London.

Ah, yeah that's the place.  There was a shop attached to it, near the front...  not in the market itself.  Used to have some cool stuff, though a lot of it seemed to mostly be liquidation things.  Picked up some old Star Wars model kits there, years ago...
