Customs / Re: How about a Joecanuck custom challenge ?
« on: March 27, 2014, 04:28:41 PM »
I tried my hand at custoing a few months ago. I was good at applying paint with spraybomb's on the vehicles. But i was REALLY, REALLY bad at painting the figures.

What kinda paint do you custom guy's use on your figures anyway ?   I was using model paint and it S**KED HARD!

Since i have seen Oreo's take on the original 12'' joes in 4'' scale i have been dying to find someone or some way of making my very own PLATOON figures in 4'' scale.

If i really wanted to i could invest 500$ and get the HOTTOYS Sgt. Barns and Chris Taylor figures. Sure hottoys is eventually going to come out with the Sgt. Elias ( Wilem Dafoe ) and Four Lener ( Johnny Depp ). But still thats only 4 characters. When really there so, so many other characters to add to that platoon of figure.

King was a central character that has to get made. ( Basically a Roadblock with a little tweaking )
Bunny is another colorful character.
Jr.
Big Harold ( Forest Whitaker )
Rhah ( Have to have his walking stick with barbed wire )
And how can we forget the guy who doesn't wanna be there at all, the ultimate suck up to Barns, Mr. John McGinley as Sgt O'Neil...
And they gotta fight somebody, right ? Gotta make a few Vietcong to go along with'em.

I'd be willing to drop some serious coin if anybody out there can make this happen.

That might be a good way to increase traffic around here. Have a custo. contest each month ?
I mean, i know Oreobuilder's gonna win first place every time, but people could still compete for second. LOL

The Clash # 1
70s pre punk
Late 70s British/yankee punk
80s American hardcore (Bad Brains, Black Flag, DRI, Cro Mags for a few examples)
Insert lots of street punk (krum bums, the unseen, monster squad, government warning, the virus )
Mix in some Social Distortion some old school country some garage surf and some thrash metal with .....a case of beer. ... Awesome!

Basically. I could spend 3 days listing bands I like from the Beatles and hank Williams all the way to Municipal Waste and Havoc!

My uncles 70 yrs old, and he's always working in his garage with The Cure full blast on the stereo. ALWAYS with the cure.
Don't get me wrong. I like The Cure but not none stop all day every day. So i brought him the KILLERS battle born cd. He liked it, he was like " wow, there good where did you find them ? '' . I was like " wasn't hard, there only the biggest band in the world right now " LOL

Then i lent him the Direct Hits album they just released, that was 2 months ago. Dont think ill see it again. Ill have to buy myself another copy

Off Topic / Star Wars Cheap Packaging
« on: March 21, 2014, 04:36:58 PM »
I was in walmart yesterday and i was looking at there discounted toy section. They had a bunch of the Star Wars figures ( I dont know what series it is ) but the card backs where made to look like the originals. I had seen them before, but this time i grabbed one to look and see if the back look like the originals also. MAN ! I couldn't beilive how flimsy they made those card backs. The card was almost bending just from me holding it. It was like bristol board. Im pritty sure i left a thumb print on it just from picking it up. LOL

After seeing that, it made me appreciate Hasbro's g.i joe packaging  a lot more.
