Wrong Joes in new RoC Packaging
« on: April 16, 2010, 08:44:52 AM »

I was at the TRU at Markville Mall and noticed that one of the Arctic Threat Shipwreck packages had a Nano Viper in it instead and a Arctic Threat Doc with Charbroil instead.  There was only one of these and double check the package to see if it was resealed but they were not, it was a factory mistake.  See for yourselves:

Not weird.

You have a figure swapper in the area.

Likely, the person bought $5 joes at Walmart or Zellers, then bought the TRU exclusives at $10 each at TRU, swapped the figures out for the $5 ones and returned them to get their money back at TRU, therefore getting the TRU exclusives for $5 each.

I hate these buggers. Happens more often in the US, but I've seen it before here in Canada as well.

Really?  I did not inspect the package with a microscope to see if was resealled but it looked like factory to me.  Damn that would suck if people did swap out figures like that.

People do. They can be really good at resealing too.

I can tell you with 99.9% confidence that that is what you are dealing with.

I have also seen this more recently in Candain ToysRus.
However I knowingly purchased the figure.  It was a 25th version blue cobra soldier with rifle in a Night Adder package.
However about 4 months ago, my wife brought me home the ROC Para-Viper, but it was swapped out for 25th version of the Para-Viper. All of the accessories were there but it still sucked.

I hate figure swappers, if you can't afford the hobby stealing is not an option.

No way that's a factory mistake.  It's a figure swapper's piece of work.  They probably bought the swapped figures for 5 bucks at Zellers or Wal-Mart, so they wouldn't have to spent another 5 bucks.  So sad and lame.

What pisses me off more that this TRU will become my local one very soon.

Wow this was my first time I saw this and did not know it was a huge problem in the JOE universe.  I was going to buy these thinking that they were factory mistakes but I have over 170 RoC figures so far and I wife would have killed me.  I'm glad I did not go with my gut and buy them.   Thanks everyone for the heads up on this distrubing trend.

Note that there are accessories also missing from the packaging.

Saw a dvd pack 2 the other day that had been swapped with the version one 25th lady jaye and first cobra 5 pack destro.  I started to get it, cause I don't have a loose version 1 jaye, but it didn't have the gun/javelin launcher.

The worst swap I saw was at a Big K(Kmart) in Florida.  Someone swapped the 25th ann. Beige(leatherneck)A.W.E. Striker for some dollar store jeep.
The first time I saw a swapped item was a few years back, a Star Wars commemorative tin set had all of it's stormtroopers pillaged and swapped with Lukes.

Sad, that people resort to this.
