Ulitmate Battle Pack
« on: November 22, 2008, 02:04:59 PM »

Just got lucky enough to get the Ultimate Battle Pack yesterday my wife picked it up in the states.  I have to say I was skeptical of it until I opened it.
An awesome set and well worth the $80CAN after US exchange.
The Hiss and Mobat are the same as previous, the blue Flight(Command) pod is kind of neat, Cobra Commander the usual nothing new.
But Destro was a surprise because he is the IG blade version with DVD pack colours and actually looks great.  Hiss Driver another well done redo with silver chest plate, crimson gloves and highlights.  Cobra gunner(soldier)is done in a gray fatigue(pretty cool looking).
Stalker looks good in a dark green camo and Steeler in tan way better than his first 25th appearance.   Of course theres Short Fuze complete with mortar and molded sunglasses.
The set comes with stands, file cards, blueprints and accessories for all figures and vehicles.

Unless these show up at Zellers or someone brings them up at next years convention I've already excepted that I won't own one. On line costs (or ebay) plus shipping would make these more then I could afford right now.

It does look like a great set and I'm glad your enjoying it. You deserve it Realboss.

BTW, does the Mobat have it's engine?

Oh yeah, post us some pics.

I just hope they still have these available after "Black Friday"

I was planning on going down today to see about getting some, but circumstances have forced me to wait until next weekend.

Thanks Morgardee.  The Mobat IS motorized.  I told my wife to scoop up as many as she can come across because I know quite a few folks who would like one.

It is awesome. I was lucky enough to have a contact in the US send me one up. Was expensive to have shipped, but the set is totally worth it!

I got mine on the weekend.  I haven't opened mine as the package looks great in that dio set up.

But I wish Hasbro would retire the Mobat for good.  It's useless and outdated.

Just opened mine about an hour ago...Great set...too bad they aren't carried here in Canada because the shipping is a killer!  I'd gladly pick up another few sets, but not at $125 each.

It'll be a long LONG time before I can afford to get one of these.  As much as I want one, it's a pretty high price tag.  Maybe if they get a re-issue.

Luckily for my wallet I only collect the figures. Unless I ever find a Rattler cause its my all time favorite vehicle. It looks like a good starter set for kids or new collectors though. I think I'm let down by Shortfuze. He was my first GIJOE ever. Actually it was him and Destro on the same day. But the glasses they put on him for this new figure makes him look really creepy. I'd have to replace his head if I were to ever own one.
