What is most expensive 80's Joe figure?
« on: July 05, 2010, 08:55:32 PM »

I was just wonder is anyone know what the most expensive 80's Joe figure is? Seems the 82 Snake Eyes is up there and wondering why since it is just one color.

I would think it would be one of the figures with the hard to find accessories.
Lift Ticket
Heavy Metal
Hardtop
etc.

In no specific order, I would say:

It's not just the number of colors. It is:
  • How often that character was in the comics/TV show?
  • What people in general think of that character (Snake Eyes is usually in the cool gang, not my favorite, but still cool!)?
  • Was it hard to find him (like a mail-in)?
  • Does it have hard to find accessories (mic, pistol, knife, antenna, etc.)?
  • Is it hard to find him in good shape now (like the Viper pilot with a perfect Cobra logo)?
  • Etc.

what about pimp daddy destro? I seem to recall someone on yo-joe, years ago offer one up at around $2500 US. Was for serious collectors only. Not sure if it sold, I just remember getting a mail for it on the old yahoo yojoe mailing list.

The Gold Head version of Pimp Daddy Destro and the Yellow suit version of Sgt. Stalker are very expensive, but these guys are focusing on Vintage Joes...

i would have to say the gold head steel brigade figure, and the 92 ninja viper, seem to command a premium.

So was I. Except it was from '97. That's vintage enough for me.

I would agree with Heavy Metal and Hard Top from this list. I've never really watched a Lift Ticket auction before.

If a Gold Head Steel Brigade is available mint/complete, it will go for more than a Hard Top or Heavy Metal, without a doubt.

SDCC PDD was actually an homage to the uber rare real PDD back in the late 90s.  Great read about it here:

thats why I love my SDCC gold PDD so much :)

Booo! I have a Heavy Metal with mic along with with a Mauler still sealed in the baggie (tape wore off so the box is now open).

Way to burst my bubble there Ed!  :(

Just kidding. I really don't care that much. The question is, what's it worth to you, the owner.
