Speed Painting? Raptor, it's that kind of out of the box thinking that makes these meets the place to be.

I have material I can donate.

I MIGHT be able to attend, depending on various factors, including a ride, the exclusive figure and how the meet matches up with my Japanese class schedule.

A custom speed painting contest would be awesome! After seeing it from the Montreal pics, this would be great and a lot of fun to have at the Can Joe Meet.

I think this  would be cool as well.   With all he warhammer figs I've been painting laley, I think  I am game.

How much time do contestants get in speed painting? Maybe I should bring a blow dryer...

Tell you what guys. If someone wants to take care of the speed painting, I have no problem with that. ALL I ask is that you supply a plastic tarp or something to put under the table when you do it (and something for ON the table as well.

I don't want to be responsible for paint on the floor and such.

Figure out who will run it, and I'll work it into the 'Events Listing' for the day as we get closer.

Alosng with the wrestling matches, and a few things I'm considering.... like Best impersonation of a Joe / Cobra character. Don't worry.... you'll win stuff if you make an ass of yourself. ;-)

I'm also considering a "Mini-Custom" contest for the meet.
People would be allowed to make ONE custom figure and bring it to the meet. It has to be one that no one has seen of yours before, and one that isn't posted online anywhere (yet). I'd have ballots set up at each one, so people could 'rate' it out of 10. Depending on how many people enter, we'd have a first, second, and third prize.

I already know what first prize would be... but it's a secret.

What about custom vehicles?

I haven't even given this any more thought than that post up there. ;-)

It my not happen at all - but I DO want something like this to take place.
I'm REALLY leaning towards the bigger hall.

I heard there were more Joe dealers than Star Wars dealers at that 'Star Wars Expo' thing..... maybe Hall or someone knows who they are?
If I can get more dealers that are JOE specific, then the big hall it is - and the 'games' can get planned.

To be honest, now that it's in my head. I would think vehicles would have to be ruled out. Some are just TOO big, and they'd take up to much space.
Figures are small and take up ALOT less space.

However, if I don't get enough dealers for it - I could always rent out tables for $5.00 or so for people to display their customs, dios, etc.

Well  I know two  of the  Joe sellers  that were at the show.  ( not counting   Steve, Hal  and Bryce) .   lmk  how much  the tables are  and  I'll see if  I can get you  some more dealers.

Sides I"m probably gonna have to get a table  this year with the extra stuff I have now.

I nominate Scramble for the job since he did such a great job for the Montreal Joe Meet's speed painting contest.

So does that mean we only bring one custom or just one for the contest? It's not like I'd want a table to set up or anything like that, just the usual amount which is around 12 or so figures.

Also, any chance we could do a chapter of Joe Canuck at the meet?

Jay - I'm sure Scramble thanks you for your vote, but it's between Raps and Scramble - they can discuss it in a PM who takes care of it. I don't want the board to 'pick' who does it. It's not a contest! ;-)

As for the customs, there will be a section for customs to be displayed, and a different section for the 'contest'. The figure you put in the 'contest' section should be made specifically for the Joe Meet...... and not seen by people before. That would be how I'd like to see it done... but  there's no real way for me to enforce it.

I'm willing to do any job that still allows me the freedom to catch up with people I haven't seen in a while, get in my Smackdown vs Raw chops, and clean the freebies table with as much as I can fit in my pouch.

So for this custom contest, will there be parameters for what the custom should be? A set theme?
