By now you've no doubt had a chance to read this month's newsletter. If you haven't, then go read it right now... I'll wait.
Done? Good.
As you know, we're allowing 25 sets to be pre-ordered now and for a pre-registration system to be started now as well.
It's one of the things people were interested in.... well, two, really. Pre-order sets and pre-registering.
I'll talk about the Registering vs. Pre-Registering first.
Registering:
When you attend the CanJoeCon, you're required to fill out the registration form, have it verified, and then pay your admission before entering. This option is still available, and we'll have those forms posted online within a week.
Pre-Registering:
What we're testing here is a pre-registering system where you purchase your admission now, then the morning of the convention, you're verified as the person on the registration and allowed in early. Yes, pre-registering will allow you admission to the convention 30 minutes early. There will be a designated line for those that have pre-registered and you will be our test subjects to see how well this option works for the 2012 convention. You will have to show ID for this option - as we need to make sure you are who you say you are and that you already paid.
Pre-Registering w/Con Set:
This option is something that we would like to do on a wider scale for 2012. So, we're allowing 25 Con sets to be pre-sold to members of JoeCanuck.com as both a thank you for making this site your "home", and as a way to test this option for 2012. To pre-register your set, you will have to pre-pay for it (like all other conventions), and bring your "invoice" with you to the convention. Don't worry if you lose it, we'll have a master list at the convention anyway. For these lucky 25 people, your admission is included in the con set price. You will still have to bring photo ID to verify it is in-fact you that reserved the set. Your address must match that of your invoice as well. The one per household, per person rule is still very much in effect, and always will be unless we hit 200 or more convention exclusives.
While at the site, if you are interested in purchasing a 2011 Convention T-Shirt, then you'll have to pre-order that as well. As always, shirts are only purchased to order. Meaning, we only order shirts made for people that want shirts. The cut off date for shirts will be June 1st.
Same applies to the comic books. If you can't attend, we will mail you a comic (shipping charges apply). However, you will only have a short time to pre-order the comics, as we do have to send the info to the printers by May 2nd.
IMPORTANT:
You can add all items you wish to pre-order to the same order/cart. But beware, while you have a pre-registered set in your cart, someone else can add it as well. It's a first-check out, first-get deal on the storefront. Nothing can be done about it.
Now, when can you start pre-ordering and pre-registering?
THIS Monday, April 25th at 7pm EST/ 4pm PST
At that time, an entirely new section on this message board will appear at the TOP of the page and those with the minimum amount of posts required will be allowed in to access the store url. Once the con sets are sold, that posting will be moved to this section of the site for everyone to pre-register, or pre-order shirts, comics, etc.
Anyone found ordering more than one set, or ordering a set for a non-JoeCanuck.com user (or a friend) will have their account removed.
You guys asked for things to be done this way, so don't ruin it by trying to screw over collectors that do play by the rules.
Any questions? Please ask them in here ASAP.
Thanks,
Mike
