So, like most here, I have missed the Global TV and CHCH TV spots on the convention.
I do have the option to purchase them from these networks, but the cost is just insane for the amount of footage that's on there.
So, I ask you guys, would you be interested in a DVD of the Convention?
It would be priced at about $10.00, plus shipping.
And include the following: (Space permitted)
All 3 Q&A's from the day
All TV Spots.
Compilation video from the day.
Photo album (possibly)
Designed case, etc.
Place your vote. I'm seriously considering this option if it means it will pay for the two TV spots that I've yet to see (or own).
Voting does not mean you will get one, it doesn't even mean we'll do this. But I don't want to spend that kind of money JUST to get a 4 minute segment.
-
I would love to own a DVD for the memories
-
I'd buy one for the Q&As. I don't really care about the TV spots.
-
I voted "No". Honestly, I had fun, I went to all Q&A but I will never look that again... like my wedding video ::)
If you missed Zach Hoffman, then this would be your best $10 investment of your life! That guy was funny, accessible and had great memories.

I voted "No".
So THAT's who that was!
-
I fully assume myself. It's not a question of price, even for $1 I wouldn't buy it. I went, I enjoyed my whole day, I went to all Q&A and I even slept there...
I'm just not the kind of guy who will tell you YES I want it then never order it. But, like I said, just for Zach... that $10 is worth it.

I am Dutch hence, if the option was available, I would have chosen "Yes, but not at $10."

As someone who didn't go, I'm interested in the Q&As or panels. But any news has been spread by now. I think at this point i would like to see a video or transcript of Larry Hama's panel or Q&A or whatever he participated in. I was kinda hoping those would be posted on the website or on youtube or something. It's not something i need, but it would be cool to see, so that's my level of interest. Just not enough to pay.

Well here's the deal with the DVD.
The Q & A's need some audio work. And I can do it, it will take awhile and a ton of time.
I'm not posting them on youtube like this, and in truth, Larry talks low, so it would be pointless unless I redid the sound.
The $10.00 price is an estimate since I would only need to sell 12 of them topay for the two videos from the stations - I DO want to see them... which is why they'd be included.
-
Mike -- Why not throw in an "exclusive" SNAKE armor with each DVD. I bet then you'd have people knocking down your door to get one -- or 10. LOL

Plus I'd have to charge $500.00 per DVD

I should also mention, as someone who didn't go, I don't expect anything. :) Even if I did go, I wouldn't expect anything. If it takes time and effort to make the video/audio ready for viewing, I wouldn't blame you if it never got posted. If anything does get posted, I see it as a bonus. :)

I think it's a wise investment to purchase them off the stations...since they already they own them forever !
Muuuahhahahahahahhaha

I'd definitely like a DVD, if for nothing else, to round out the video I took. Since I was behind the camera I'd at least like to see the full uncensored news coverage, to see if they caught me. I didn't cover the Q&A's because normally (as normal as anime cons go) they don't let you do that. Also, I overheard the guy who looks like Brendan Frasier (Scramble?) say they would be recording it anyway.
Are you planning to put in any Easter Eggs?

That was me, and that was the plan, but because the sessions weren't mic'ed, it isn't as easy as tossing them up on YouTube.

I voted No, but I would change it to a YES if I was asked again. I didn't assist to the Zartan panel, and the videos I've seen on Youtube have me screaming for more, but alas, nothing out there impresses me. The best vid out there belongs to Formbx257 in my opinion. So a professionally done video will certainly appeal to me and complete my experience of the Canjoecon. Please count me in if you decide to sell these.

yes
yes
yes
mostly for Zach Hoffman's Q&A
P.S. how the hell did I miss this thread until the very of November?

Better late than never!
-
I don't think this is happening anytime in the near future guys.
I've been too busy to edit video and audio to get it on youtube, nevermind making a DVD for it all.
-
Damn.... Oh well!

Oh well, best way to have a souvenir of the canjoecon....is to live it live!

it's cool, Mike, I understand that... Besides your real life and spouse and your job and the time-consuming hoops you have to jump through getting the Con together, I can't imagine you have any free time . stupid me for unburying this topic. :-[

Looking like Brendan Frasier was the plan? I kid, I kid.
And he arm wrestles like Sylvester Stallone. (I have to reference Over the Top any time I can). I armwrestled like Betty White.

Actually, a silver lining to unburying this topic could be that someone might step up and take this project on for the upcoming Con. Just a thought.

I missed the voting, however for $10 I would pick one up. Would be neat to display with the convention set, and allow me to see what I missed from the Q and A sessions.
-
Upon more thought on this. I think the DVD idea is a bad one, and I wish I never brought it up. Those that attended have the memory of seeing the Q&A's and can share some of the fun with others online. But if people could just purchase them, they may not be enticed to attend the convention. And lets' face it, the only way we can keep bringing in guests like this to the Convention - WITH the low admission price of $15.00 is if more people show up and attend the convention.
So, some clips from all 3 will be done - no clue when - but they will be uploaded on youtube.
You guys want DVDs? Spread the word about the convention across all sites and give me no option but to do so due to demand! ;)

Any time I've watched clips from a convention I couldn't attend, I'm more enticed to try and make it in the future. That's just talking about seminars. Our Q&As are interactive. The incentive is not only hearing Larry Hama or Zach Hoffman tell stories, it's getting them to tell the specific stories you want to hear.
-
I really just wanted the recording of Zach Hoffman's Q&A so I could relive it over and over, it was the sole reason I wanted the DVD.
