Thanks Storm.Shadow! You're hints have helped me out many times! (The Sigma 6 stuff at Winners a while back saved me hundreds). I'm going to go check my Wal-Mart now.

You're welcome, glad I can help out.

...I picked up the Cobra set but I have to say this was the hardest time I've had justifying why I need them. I almost left without buying them. I'm sick of Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow.....

I've picked them up a couple of times now and still can't quite seem to leave the store with them.  I'm sure I'll buy them eventually, but I guess there just isn't enough there to make me all giddy! :)

Optimus Prime 25th wasn't set up with a price anywhere, just two of him set randomly about ten feet from the carded TF stuff. It was Hyde Park Wal-mart, north of London. I couldn't find a price on OP, I assumed it was expensive though.

Sunrise Center Wal~Mart (Kitchener) had a couple cases of these out.  They're up on the top shelf so they're pretty easy to miss.

Prime is $69.92

Yes you read that right. 70 bucks.

It's cool, but not $70 cool.

How do they figure that this won't result in rampant figure swapping.

I mean they are the same figures with minor changes in a case that is designed to be reopenable and reclosable. I could imagine pissed off fans swapping their old versions of the figures straight up for the new ones, and no one noticing at all.

If it doesn't happen I will be very surprised.

I bought the Cobra set, because I love this Baroness, the Chrome plated Viper and I actually really dig the Zartan.

The other 2 I could care less about, and Shipwreck is really the only one in the Joe set I'd use.

Unfortunately Raptor it will happen.  I saw a lot of that when I was in Florida and at three different stores.  Comic packs, vehicles and Star Wars sets all tampered with and swapped out.

If anyone sees these in a Wal-Mart, TRU or Zellers in the Toronto or Hamilton area please post here. I haven't seen them round these parts yet. Silver Snail has them but they are $49.99 (OUCH!)

my thoughts exactly.. I'm a huge transformers fan.. but I'm not dropping that much money on that figure. Sure he doesn't even come with the same stuff as the American counterpart. I think he is missing a Dvd or comic book isn't he?

The pricing is ridiculous, its just that much money, because "they" know people will pay for it. If you don't, the next person along will, or it will end up on ebay. crazy.

Man, 70 bones for OP? Ugh. I still want him though, and I thought the Canadian box looked better than the DVD/Comic iteration I see on Amazon.com.

However, I would rather save my 70 and put it toward the Cobra set, I need that Baroness. Maybe with the leftovers I can find the missing vehicles of the 25th line I want...online.

Argyle W-M in East London got a TON of VvV homage packs (ick) and about ten or fifteen of the five packs. Scored a Cobra set. They also had about a dozen(!!) of the Anni Optimus Primes, but they had all been left up on the top shelf, completely undisplayed. I really, really want one. 70 bucks is a bit rich though.

St. Catharines Wal-Marts have them now, as well as the 25th Prime.

It is difficult to justify buying the same figures but Shipwreck, Lady Jaye, Baroness, and even Snake-Eyes (if you didn't get the purple DVD pack version) are all new molds. Flint actually has rolled-up sleeves, gloves, a backpack and a new headsculpt. The Viper has better hands and the chrome faceplate. Storm Shadow has his nunchakus and the sleeveless look.

It's a tough call but the Flint and Baroness won me over. Shipwreck and Lady Jaye are superior to their original 25th versions I'd say the only clunker in the sets is Hawk and even he's not too bad....just not different enough from his original 25th release.

Wow, I can hardly believe I just defended Hasbro's quadruple-dipping!  ;D

Seriously though, I'm looking at my SHipwrecks and Lady Jayes right now and the 5-pack versions are just better.
