Hey..... Scramble hasn't updated us on this - and I just spent most of the last 3 days with the guy!
To be fair, no one asked.
I did the show and had a lot of fun doing it. The theme of my segment is "showing non-fans what it's like to be a fan". Me and some friends played my original board game "Men and Their Toys" and we had a mini-amature speed painting contest. I was also filmed painting a Zandar custom, the very figure I entered in the Custom Contest at this weekend's Meet.
I did do paintball even though it was not one of my hobbies. During the interview I said as often as I could that this was my first time, I'd considered playing before but was never willing to pay the cost, that it didn't reflect my interest in GI Joe. So hopefully a little honestly comes out of the show's most contrived segment. Truth be told, I did enjoy the paint ball experience and am considering playing again.
So if Zombieguide and Aire both backed out, I guess I'm sharing an episode with Alyosha, unless someone else came along later. Funny, because for all the pimping I did for Joe Canuck, Joe Customs, Maurauder John, and MOTH, the only bashing I did was people with Alyosha's attitude about making a buck off their fellow collectors. I didn't mention him by name, of course.
I agree that the three person speed painting in my social room does not compare to the fourteen people, including experienced customizers, that we had this past Saturday, and the show would have benefitted from attending. Sadly, it's not just their loss.
