Marvel Legends Wave 9
« on: March 15, 2005, 05:41:58 PM »

Wow- is all I can say, this really is a great set of figures - I only have minor complaints about some figures, but overall this was the best luck I have had with a complete set from the very beginning.
I have always ended up with some goofy figure with two left arms - seized hips-arms-legs, crappy paint jobs etc.

But this wave is really near perfect.

My only real complaints are Hulk is kind of lame in terms of his articulation.
Dr. Strange's hands are posed funky.
War Machine's fire stuff is flimsly and doesn't really stay in place.

Again, these are all just minor complaints.

Here is the just a brief description of the good...
Galactacus was a tonne of fun to put together - saved Prof X to open till the end, simply to put big G's head on last.
Bullseye has individual movement on each of his fingers.
NightCrawler is like he just popped out of the comic - all the fingers and toes move indipendently.
Dr. Strange's cape is an action figure on it's own -massive and flowing.

Big thanks to BountyHunter Mike - for getting these sets for me - makes my life so much better not to have to fight to find them at ToysRus.

-Sorry for the people who read JoeCustoms.com as I am cutting and pasteing this over there in one of the threads already going.

I might get the Bullseye. He's one of my favorite villains.

I had to get more cases today.
I've NEVER seen ANY Marvel Legends wave sell this good.

Wait a second?

My G.I. Joe sold out in a day.
Wrestling is ALWAYS selling out for me.
Now Marvel Legends is selling out?

Either I'm doing something right, or they're making GREAT toys lately!
(probably both!)

Got Modern armor Iron Man yesterday from wave 8. Had my eye on the figure, but wasn't sure until last night. Great figure. I can't hardly wait for the Ultron figure to come out next wave.

I should get War Machine and Silver centurion Iron man too. Anyone will want a galactus leg?

That galactus figure must be why wave 9 is selling so well.

Next wave's Sentinel should sell as good.

Prof. X
Dr. Strange
Deathlok

ALL are one per case.

The peg-warmer will be the Hulk.
...and War Machine.

3 short packed figures in one case?    That's just silly. Well I don't really collect these but when the 4' versions come out I'll get those.

Good. Hopefully this will stop another Man-Thing debacle with lesser known characters.

I grabbed the Bullseye fig. Very disappointing. He's got a monkey head (w/ protruding ears), he's way too skinny and his face looks very old. The paint wipe was also botched on mine so one of his legs is very blue and the other is very black.

This is NOT the Bullseye from the Deadpool comics (and Elektra and Daredevil). What the hell happened?

I  was pretty happy  with the  way all of  my  wave 9  figures  turned  out.  Bullseye's  face  is   a  tad too dark  in my opinion  but, then  again  I have a Thor  with  a  left  upper  thigh  on his  right leg.  So its no real biggie.
Another  thing  that i like about  Bullseye  is  the amount of  articulation that  he  has ( currently  he's letting Daredevil  know  he's  number  one).

Thanks  to this  wave  I am  now collecting  the  whole Legends set,  minus  variants  cuz  I really don't care  that much.

The only  thing that  I'm kicking  myself  about is the  fact that  I decided  to  start  collecting on  wave  9...  heh.
