I'm thinking a good starting point for our 'Travelling JoeCanuck' figure is the next Meet.
I know Loop is busy with his new 'project' right now, so once he has a spare second, hopefully he can drop me a line (*ahem*).
Anyone have ideas on how he should look?
Should we make him along the same design as the 1st 'exclusive custom' one? Or totally different?

Similar elements, but something unique to set him apart. One of the rejected heads, a different coloured shirt (considering how many Big Ben torso's we've seen since 2000, there are plenty of options).
Would we be able to post tracking numbers whenever he gets sent. That way we know when he's been sent and how long each person has had him?
-
It's going to be a 'rule' (once I get those done)
That anyone that ships him out will HAVE to do it via Expedited Canada Post.
This way, he's insured, has a tracking number, and will arrive quickly.
The ONLY way around this is if you were meeting someone in person to 'hand off' JoeCanuck.
For example: Pete hands off JC to Raptor, Raptor them mails him out to Scramble - via Expedited.
Scramble could then pass him off to Jin, who would pass him off to Custo etc etc.
I'm still working on the 'Guidelines' for this.... honestly.... I have a .txt file with random notes typed up in it.
;-)

Only Dan and I could to this as we live 10 minutes apart. Other wise it's cheaper to mail the figure out rather than drive around with these gas prices.

I know that I was being used for an example, but actually I'm not "in" for this. I have dio work piled up (literally) and no time to do them either. :?
Sorry.

We could use White-Out's body with a choice of two possible Travelling Joe Canuck heads. I'll have pics of both of the heads for comparison tomorrow.

Here are our Travellin' JoeCanuck candidates:

A or B
You decide.
-
I vote for "B".
-
Another "B" vote here.
-
Bs the one I had in mind originally, but I really like A.
I vote A.
-
BTW, does he really need the gun? That might end up getting lost somewhere on the road. Probably be better if it was just the figure.
-
Everything is still a go on this, right?
-
If someone wants to start it - with 2 and a half weeks left to the Joe Meet, I'm kinda busy painting figures and printing filecards and such!

I guess since I have the figure in hands, I'll give it a go first.
-
Hey Loop, if you want to do 'this' and handle it all, that's uber-cool with me.

Sure thing. I'll gather and refine the rules from the previous threads and put together the partcipant list before the meet.
-
A few 'rules' that I'd like seen before this begins.
ALL people that sign up must have a minimum of 50 posts.
They are to email you (or PM you) with their mailing address & home phone # before it begins.
This is moreso to 'cover' the loss of the figure.
I would also 'think' that a tracking number be included when shipping him from person to person as that leaves a 'trail'.
-
With the 50+ posts rules applied, here's the list of participants who volunteered in the Travellin' Joe thread. I'm surprised Raptor, Jon S., Jin or Madman hasn't volunteered.
Here's the order of participants (this list will refresh with new volunteers):
1. Scramble - Pointe Claire (Montreal)
2. Custo - Montreal (LaSalle) Quebec
3. Deadshot - Stratford, Ontario
4. Morgardee - Kitchener, Ontario
5. AKPayne - Mississauga, Ontario
6. Pete The Greek - Oshawa, Ontario
7. AlleyViper - Calgary
8. Redmao - Montreal, Quebec
9. BHT - Hamilton, Ontario
10. Agent Loop - Mississauga, Ontario
The Travelling joe will be handed off to Scramble at the Can Joe Meet. I've decided to go last because my two jobs are tying me down these days before I leave for Europe in a few weeks. Plus, I may be expected to make a trip to South Africa around fall, so it'll be fun to take Joe Canuck to another continent.
To refresh, here are the rules again:

-a tracking number to be included when shipping the figure from person to person as that leaves a 'trail'.
-48 day maximum limit to holding the figure, then it needs to be shipped to next person. If you don't have to time work a mini dio-story with the figure within the 48 days, person must forfeit figure to next person, then be put back to the bottom of the queue.
Everyone cool?

I'm cool. Except I'm in Ville St. Laurent now. Ah just call it Montreal.
-
I'm surprised Raptor, Jon S., Jin or Madman hasn't volunteered.
The problem with me is that I'm a major procrastinator, so it'd take me a while to take pics, to repackage, to remail, etc.
Plus since I don't own my own Joecanuck figure, my evil side might be tempted to keep it...
So I'd rather not participate to avoid ruining the whole thing for everyone else.

I already did one of these. It was a bit of a pain, and I'm not a very good Dioist.

-
As much as I'd love to take part, I'd end up holding the whole thing up as my schedule doesn't allow much "play" time.
-
I don't think the 'Dio' aspect 'needs' to be a part of it.
Perhaps just take a bunch of pics of the JoeCanuck in the city you live - some landmarks, city sign, etc.

Back-Stop's on his way to pick up Travelin' Joe Canuck as we speak.

I have a new digital camera (finally). Just no memory card or usb adaptor for it yet.
