As seen on Generals Joes:
The 2011 GIJCC Incentive figure is none other than Dial Tone with a newly sculpted head and his familiar 1986 style!!! No pics for now!
I think it's a great idea, I hope it's true!
-
I might just actually join the club now, especially if their sets are going to be 25th from now on.
-
As said on other boards, I hope he comes with his backpack.
-
I'm glad I'm a member already! Now to wait for it come in April!
-
I'm pretty excited. Just hope they pull off a good rendition, I was disappointed with the dr. venom. Really, Dial Tone needs some distinctive parts not just existing molds. Backpack is mandatory. It's too bad the 25th is relegated to exclusives and member figures now. Wow, that all sounded pretty sour. Sorry guys! Hopefully this Dial Tone will be what we've been wanting.

You'd think between the hit Hasbro had with Sarge and the furor both the PoC Low-Light and now this Dial-Tone are going to cause, that they might re-examine the 25th line. The only reason the 25th line went in the crapper in the first place was they started doing a bunch of repaints. I can only take so many versions of Firefly, Storm Shadow, and Snake Eyes, and I'm especially frustrated when it takes 10 versions just to get the figure truly right.
-
still pissed they've never done a second Airtight apart from that DTC one, which i didn't like...

... Duke, Serpentor, Cobra commander, etc.

This news seriously makes me consider joining the club for the first time. Bandonov (or any other member of the GIJCC), if you would be so kind, what is the cost/benefit for you? If I understand correctly it costs about 62$US to join? Aside from the membership figure and 12(?) newsletters, what do you get for that price? Are the newsletters interesting (say on par with the excellent work done by the Joecanuck guys)? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

I wonder how they missed Dial-tone the first time around on the 25th line.

I have been a member for a couple months so far, the only other benefit not mentioned was the discounts for merchandise on the site. I got my 2 Sgt. Slaughter for $40 from them. All other items you can access with there free trooper membership. It is the surprise figure that makes it worth wild.

Thanks for the info. I forgot about he better prices at the club store. Another question, how are the shipping rates when you order from the club store? I've heard horror stories, I assume the Officer level discount helps offset this?

Since I only bought he Sgt., I can only go by that experience. It was $30 (USPS) to ship to T.O. and included in that charge was $3 to wrap the items in bubble wrap (Not Impressed)! I really have only one more item that I want to buy from them and that is the Dr. Venom set. But I can careless for the green man-eating plant and the AF trooper that it comes with.

Shipping is WAY to much. Ask Real Boss about this subject. That is the reason I don't buy from them. Case in point, they have some 12' figures on sale right now. I wanted to get the case of 4 of the 12' pilot figure for $40 (can't go wrong at $10 per figure) but I checked the shipping and it was about $42.xx, so more then the item in question. I have bought from them before, been quoted over $20.00 in shipping and seen the item show up with shipping rates less then $10.00.
Now I know some people make money off shipping, but when you pay around $70.00 a year to be a member, it's my belief that they should NOT be making a profit off of shipping to you.
-
Their shipping fees is the main reason why their warehouse is still filled with old stuff.
A lot of International fans would buy their stuff, but the shipping fees are killing it.
-
Guess I'm the only one that isn't impressed.
Never liked 86 dialtone.
Doubt I'll like a 25th version either.
-
Wait for the pics, you may be suprised? The RoC version was a female. Who knows what were are going to get.
-
It had better be a male version, a switch in gender is at odds with the 25th Anniversary theme. So many other female characters get no figures (Lady Jaye, Jinx, Bombstrike) and yet we get a well-known male character in female form for ROC? WHY?!
-
I'm wondering what the 1/6 figure will be since the Foreign Adventurers are over.

Say what? Where did you hear this?

Good advice. Although, I read on another forum that it would indeed be 1986 version.
What puzzles me is the report that it would be a new head. Honestly, a repainted Flint or Sgt Stone would probably work. If I were the club, I would have put those tooling dollars on the webgear and backpack. I guess we'll have to wait and see what accessories he comes with. The rest of the recipe should be pretty straight forward:
Torso: Viper
Arms, hands, legs: Airborne

The other option available is that you can buy the figure from the site after they are given to the members. They sell the extras for $20-ish.
-
Getting a membership for me is dependent on how their box set exclusive will be, if its 25th style Id really like it, but I know how bloody expensive it is.
-
I got my figure today and he looks GREAT! I read in a few other sites that figure was not painted propperly and the filecard was bent. I'm glad to say my figure appears to have been painted perfectly and the filecard is perfect! Did anyone else gets theres yet? And was it okay or damaged like the others have reported?
-
Got mine last Thursday. The box they sent him in was absolute crap, it was crushed on one end and the figure wasn't wrapped in bubble wrap or anything...fortunately my figure wasn't damaged. I've got a few impressions on the figure...but you guys are gonna have to wait for the newsletter to see what they are!
-
I got mine just today also!

Sorry to hear that. To think that these figs came out of DallasFort Worth, that you of all people because of you living in Texas would have got it perfect.

Anybody interested in the proposed subscription figures? I'm thinking I'd like to get the quarrel. Wonder what else they'll do.

I will be signing up for them, I hope we Canadians do not get hosed on the price.
-
Im still on the fence with it, really depends on the price, but I figure the ones I dont want I can resell and get at least what it cost back.
-
I plan on signing up for the subscription service. Quarrel is exciting, though I could care less about the Nano-BAT. However, the promise of more Action Force and other oddball figs/characters is just too good for me to pass up!
-
I got mine yesterday in all his 12 inch glory. Yep, I'm signed up for the 12 inch figures. I did this because the 12 inch figures cost more to ship then the 3 3/4 figures. I just had no idea Dial Tone would be such a hit and sell out. D'oh! At least i got a MOC one from the convention this year. ;D

I remember everyone trashing this figure, then someone spread pixy dust on it and placed 600 in a carded version then it because the greatest thing ever! I still do not understand, oh well!

The shoulder pad is my favorite part.. and 4 grenades on a radio guy, really?

Ever look at something and it reminds you of something or someone else, but you can't quite place it? Then after a few days of looking at it it finally hits you?
After a few days of looking at Dial-Tone's face, I finally snapped my fingers & said, "Hitler!"
