I've been talking to a few you about combining the Joe Con with one of my events. Just wanted to put the idea out in the open. I've been running 5 events a year for the last 12 years. There is plenty of space available to add a Joe Con/Meet and the toy collecting attendees are established.

Purchasing the rights to the previous Joe Con are not profitable for me, nonetheless, a Joe Convention is still possible.
Let me know your thoughts as I will be booking my 2015 date very soon.

I'd like to wait and see if Jon and Pete are interested in getting something going first.
-
I'm not looking to run it. I'm offering a place to host it and possibly covering some costs for guests. My summer and fall dates are not set but are planned for mid-late June and early Nov.

I support anyone taking some initiative to breathe some life into Joecanuck.

Canadian Joe Con wasn't part of the transfer to Jon. That is still with Mike.
Speaking for myself, there is no way i could run a show nor do i have any desire to do so.

What city do you have in mind?

You'd be best off talking to Mike about that. I'm not interested in running a con either. I would like to get a social event for JoeCanuck members going before the end of the year.

Honestly you are better off just doing your own branding for Joe-centric part of your shows.
Mike might do his own thing, but the trend has been going away from anything happening. So why not do something yourself?

Agreed. Anything is better than nothing.
I think people were hoping that a fresh start might revitalize the community.
