Battle Los Angeles
« on: March 11, 2011, 09:43:48 PM »

Just saw the movie.  It was good for what it was---a shoot em up Blackhawkdown type movie.

Don't expect too much in the way of story.  They basically copied ideas from a bunch of other movies i.e. Independence day.

But good for a couple of hours of entertainment.

Why are Aliens always seem interested in taking over LA?

They should stop watching "historical documents" from light years away...

I guess it can be explained that they go where the people are.
 Largest population centres would be attacked first, and Greater Los Angeles is, what...........the third largest population in the USA?
Ignoring political boundaries like borders, it'd be one of the primary targets on the North American continent for an "alien invasion".

i would've thought a compentent alien invasion that's done its research would hit Washington DC, Cheyenne Mountain and New York first.

tehy need to downgrade Britain considerably. we just retired our only aircraft carrier and we've also scrapped our entire Harrier fleet and are scrapping our BRAND NEW NEVER FLOWN Nimrod MR4 recon planes, and are laying off troops left and right thanks to our d!ckhead government and their ludicrous need to cut the deficit in 4 years.

the deficit needs cutting, i agree, but it should be done slower and should not be done the way this bunch are doing it, which amounts to: oh, this costs X million quid, cut it. that costs Z billion quid, scrap it.

 ::)
on the other hand, whilst we may not have the numbers, we've got a hell of a lot of experienced veteran troops these days. that ought to count for something.

the bigger the army, the more targets the opposition has...
