The increase in prices at TRU is insulting.  It isn't like the stock is flying off their shelves.  And with the current case assortment of a single figure per case, there are going to be some serious peg warmers.  They need to learn how to discount and move stale merchandise.  Target is the king in the US at getting older peg warmers to fly off the shelf.

Well they have done a pretty great job of shrinking the boys toys section down by half so they can add in their HMV section!!!!   Good job!!!!  I mean HMV is such a strong brand the easily survived the early 2000s and downloading/streaming right?  So why not double down on that in a kid's toy store!!!!   Makes perfect sense to me.  What could possibly go wrong??  I mean look at all the books they have been selling.  So many that they shrunk that section down and moved it away from the prime real estate near the front of the store.  A sure sign of success.   

Anyway.....

Just got my latest order from Amazon.  I had preordered the Techno Viper (x2) a while back with a gift card.  So I got them for less than retail, even the recent price drop Amazon had on them.  Surprisingly I didn't get a notification for them, but I also just ordered Airborne and 60th Action Soldier with another gift card and all 4 figures came today in one box.

Wow.  Good job Amazon.  I am used to multiple boxes/shipments with different orders when it would make sense, and save money, to ship them all together, and you did just that.  Chalk one up for logistics this time.

Techno Vipers are great, as usual.  Airborne is surprisingly fantastic in hand.  I liked him from the start, but in hand he is just more strikingly than the pictures made him out to be.  Can't wait for the Dragonfly to arrive later this year.  60th Action Soldier is great as well.  I'm not a big fan of the figure itself, or the camo pattern, but man all the accessories and soft goods really make this figure stand out in the Classified line.

Agreed on the 60th figures - the accessories are the selling features.  The figures I don't really have a desire for, and the price tag of a deluxe figure has left me skipping them.  But if they ever go on sale (maybe on Amazon) I would grab them.

Techno-viper is a great figure, just wish the hose was a cm or two longer.   And yes Airborne is way better in hand,  not a single quality control issue, and the paint applications are crisp.  Only gripe is his gun.

Just snagged a Big Boa from TRU with a 25% off coupon.  Came out to just over $36 after tax so I saved a couple bucks compared to regular retail price. 

Man is he a great Classified figure in general, but just even moreso because of being Big Boa with his zany look.  I love the unmasked head and bloody wrapped hands.  And the weights!!!  If only they could have given us the punching bag/stand that would have put it over the top for me.  Although I know that would have raised the price.

I got mine delivered on Monday.   Same here though that I haven't had a chance to open it yet.  I know I'll love it anyway, and it should look great connected to the HISS. 

From what I have seen online it is much bigger than I am expecting, which is good considering how much it cost.

I saw a post saying Roadblock & Tripwire Tiger Force 2-pack is now on sale at Target for $38.49 (USD). Since we don't have Target in Canada anymore I took a look on TRU... just in case.

I remember last time I checked price on TRU Classified figs, and they were $1 to $3 higher than Amazon. But now, the average GI Joe Classified fig is... $42.99!!!!

Yep TRU after the new year went back to their wacky pricing.  Did you happen to see Buzzer's price?  I'm sure it is an error, but $60 is not a realistic price for a single figure.

So far I don't think TF Roadblock and Tripwire have shown up at any major Canadian retailer for preorder.   Maybe TRU will get it, or possibly Gamestop since they go the Tiger Paw.   However there are online etailers that have the two pack up for preorder so if you can't access Target there are some options available in Canada.

So some online retailer has leaked a list of items he says he was able to order this week.  It looks like a list of what to expect for Yo Joe June reveals (at least the ones to go up for preorder).

Some interesting tidbits.  Storm Shadow V2 is the only figure from the next wave that hadn't been spoiled/revealed.  There had been chatter about the possibility, but nothing really concrete.  The Stinger is a nice surprise, mostly because if the retailer can order it then that could mean it won't be a Pulse exclusive like the VAMP.  Otherwise not a big surprise once they revealed the VAMP.  MM Sgt. Slaughter had already leaked so not a big surprise.  I wonder if the MM Spirit/Low-Light two pack will show up as well?  The 60th is also not a big surprise, but the switch from a Pilot to the Halo Jumper is interesting.  I wonder if they might give us a cloth parachute pack-in?   The Retro wave is cool, but missing one more figure since there is supposed to be 3 waves of 3 figures for 2024.  Hopefully the final figure is either Flint or Major Bludd.   The retailer mentioned the possibility of the Cobra Commander being the hooded version, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Can't wait for Yo Joe June to start.  Should be fun and hopefully lots more reveals (name only, digital, physical) and maybe a Dragonfly unboxing?

So overall not too many surprises, but what was shown was still great.

Next mainline wave is great as we had already seen from the leaks.  However I really love how they did some mixing and matching with the IG BAT and IG to give us some fun looks.   Definitely like the IG more after seeing it than with the pics.

STINGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Man the in hand reveal just takes it to another level.  All the little details look great.  I'm surprised they didn't talk about the ground blast effects.   I will say I am a bit disappointed with the blast effects on the missiles.  They seem to be too heavy and you could see the missiles with them not sitting evenly with the other missiles.

The Retro wave was mostly as expected.  Love the vac metal CC with the more cartoon colours.  Great way to add extra variation from the HISS version.  Trooper already seen.  STALKER!!  We knew he had to be coming sometime, but nice to see.  Looks good for what it is and will do nicely.

MM Slaughter is as expected and the "itty bitty ditty bag" looks great.   Low-Light and Spirit also look good.   Now BBQ has some more teammates.

Loved the digital renders.  Dialtone looks great, though it is funny to include a cellphone with him while still giving him that unwieldy pack.   SAW Viper looks good except for the helmet.  It looks off to me for some reason.  Glad to know it can come off.

Footloose name only reveal is nice as well.

Interesting to hear that the Haslab is going to be at SDCC this year instead of Yo Joe June.  Looks like Hasbro is finally giving Joe a bit more credit after a couple of great years.   The only thing about it being at SDCC is could it be something a bit bigger than a Rattler???  High profile event so what about a bigger item that fits the event??  Much like the Ghost last year for SW.  I am good if it is just the Rattler, but maybe..........?

Oh and no mention of the 60th figures.

It might still be the Rattler because that plane will be huge, in fact, too big for me. Imagine the wings to be as long as the total lengt of the plane.
