Someone owes me money.

YEARS ago I had a long conversation with someone and we suggested all the games that could be GI Joe based. Monopoly was one, Risk was another, Connect Four as well (Stars and Cobra Logos). Not to mention a chess board (which I would totally buy), and a ton of other things.

They made an excellent Indiana Jones Monopoly(Walmart exclusive).  It came in a wooden crate and included movie artifacts and locations.

If GIJoe is anything like this I'll be looking to buy it.  And as Mike said I would love to see a Joe/Cobra chess set.  !Hello Franklin Mint!

GI Joe Risk would rock so hard!  Or Stratego.

I wonder what the properties are going to be.  And the "houses"...  maybe troops.

Hmm.

I will be getting the monopoly, and I agree if there was a good chess set released I would for sure pick that up!

Nice to see Flint on the cover. Actually, it's nice that everything is 80s/25th based designs.

I agree 100%. When i clicked through to look at it i totally expected to see a movie based monopoly. I was stunned and really pleased to see the classic style art work. Now if only they would re-release that giant gi joe board game from the 80s. I think  i still have a few of the cut out character pieces from that.

The 12' collectors must be upset that they have been totally skipped over. The movie - 3 3/4. The Monoploy - 3 3/4. The comic - 3 3/4, The new cartoon - 3 3/4. Heck, 3 3/4 even had a cereal once.

No love for the Adventure Team.

Yeah what about the At...
Seems like Hasbro think that the ARAH characters have more marketing potential than the bearded adventurers

Okay so the pieces (tokens) reported so far are:

Faceplate CC's head
Timber
Thunder Machine
U.S.S. Flagg

Anyone heard of any more?

wow, that's cool.   I also expected it would be based off the damn movie before I looked at the link and read the responses but that was a nice surprise!   I have the regular old Monopoly at home and this is the first of the "spin offs" reflecting other properties that I've actually wanted.

$5 says there will be a movie inspired Monopoly before Christmas too, I'd be really surprised if it didn't happen.   I'll pass on that one though.

Well... there IS a big G.I. Joe board game out there where you can use real figures on it.... if anyone has that, bring it and I'll set up a table in the hall for people to play. (Must bring your own figures)

Just noticed this:
"Control the entire G.I. Joe universe in this fantasy contest of deal making and risk taking, collecting the most iconic bases and locations from the 1980s G.I. Joe animated series." Bit of a let down, but still better than being based on the movie. Hopefully it's just a generalization and there will be some comic based stuff in there too.

I love AT! That being said the re-issues were in the bargain bins a few years ago. The only time AT 'does well' is when it is out of print it seems.

hey guys i'm looking for ppl that are interested in getting the gi joe monopoly.
we need at least 6 people in order to get them at $35, otherwise its $45 for single, and i think $35 is a very good price, seeing how the cheapest one, even on ebay right now is still 36 usd. so the more people i can get to buy them the better the price. follow the link and help me out to get them cheaper. thanks guys

I saw this at my local comic shop yesterday for $39.99.

I'm tempted to pick one up but I recall seeing Transformers Monopoly go on clearence in the past for $20.00.

It's a tuff call.

I saw a copy at Sunrise Records in the mall. 50 or 60 bucks though, easy to pass. I'd grab it on clearance though, that makes sense.
